贺锦丽说：“我们见证了两种司法制度，一种是让极端份子冲进美国国会大厦，另一种是去年夏天向和平示威者释放催泪弹……我们知道这是不可接受的。”

美国保守派新闻网站“市政厅”（Townhall）记者朱利奥·罗萨斯（Julio Rosas）回应道，他作为去年报导骚乱的记者，可以证明贺锦丽的说法是错误的。而且事实上，警方对国会大厦的抗议者使用了催泪瓦斯，还有胡椒喷雾以及闪光弹。
