【新唐人北京時間2021年01月08日訊】針對抗議者衝入國會大廈，民主黨當選副總統賀錦麗（Kamala Harris）發表講話，稱警察對待國會大廈的抗議者相對更溫和，這一觀點很快受到質疑。
賀錦麗說：「我們見證了兩種司法制度，一種是讓極端份子衝進美國國會大廈，另一種是去年夏天向和平示威者釋放催淚彈……我們知道這是不可接受的。」

美國保守派新聞網站「市政廳」（Townhall）記者朱利奧·羅薩斯（Julio Rosas）回應道，他作為去年報導騷亂的記者，可以證明賀錦麗的說法是錯誤的。而且事實上，警方對國會大廈的抗議者使用了催淚瓦斯，還有胡椒噴霧以及閃光彈。

此外，一名手無寸鐵的婦女也在事件中被警方開槍打死。
週三，在事件發生後，川普（特朗普）第一時間告訴抗議者回家。而在2020年「黑命貴」騷亂高峰期間，賀錦麗支持暴力示威者，甚至鼓勵她的追隨者為明尼阿波利斯市（Minneapolis）的騷亂者提供保釋基金捐款。根據記錄，「黑命貴」暴徒在2020年造成的損失超過20億美元。
拜登週四也發表了雷同的言論，甚至將抗議者稱為「國內恐怖份子」。
