最新一期香港《争鸣》杂志报导，90多名现职和退休的中共高官，正在接受内部审查，其中包括上海市政协主席吴志明。
吴志明是中共前党魁江泽民的亲侄子，曾任上海政法委书记近11年，期间还曾兼任上海公安局长达8年。在任期间，吴在上海制造了多起冤案。
外媒预测人民币贬值
人民币对美元汇率，最近几天连续下跌，引起外界对人民币贬值的关注。彭博新闻社2月2号报导说，去年第四季度，中国遭遇了1998年以来最大的资本外流。
报导援引分析人士的话说，这一迹象表明，中国的经济架构确实在改变，而且外界预期的人民币的贬值已经出现。
中共删除建造第二艘航母消息
中共正在建造第二艘航母的消息，1月31号，被江苏常州市政府新闻办公室官方微博，和《常州晚报》泄露。他们炫耀说，一家当地电缆企业“又中标第二艘航母”。消息随后就被删除，但已经被西方媒体广泛关注。
多家媒体报导都说，这个消息提醒外界中共的军事扩张，以及它在东海和南海问题上的强悍作风。
明报总编改头条员工搁笔抗议
香港《明报》近百名员工，周二（1月3号）傍晚举行“搁笔1小时行动”，在报社门外举牌，抗议新任总编辑钟天祥，不尊重报社编辑部高层的集体决定，将一条有关1989年“六四事件”内幕的新闻，从周一《明报》的头条撤下。
香港支联会也就事件发表声明，指责钟天祥的做法，破坏新闻和编采自由。支联会怀疑他想藉更改头条淡化或者回避“六四”真相，也怀疑事件有“幕后黑手”操纵。

HK Media: Jiang Zemin’s Nephew Facing Discipline Investigation
According to the latest edition of Hong Kong’s Cheng Ming
Magazine:
over 90 incumbent and retired high-level Chinese Communist
Party (CCP) officials are currently under disciplinary investigation.
Wu Zhiming, the Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political
Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Shanghai Committee,
is also a suspect.
Wu Zhiming is former CCP President Jiang Zemin’s nephew.
He was Secretary of the Shanghai Political and Legal
Commission for nearly 11 years.
He also worked as Chief of the Shanghai Public Security
Department for 8 years during the same period.
Wu was responsible for several cases of miscarriage of justice
in Shanghai during his term of office.
Bloomberg: Expectation of Yuan Depreciation Has Appeared
In recent days, China’s Yuan falls sharply against the dollar,
which draws wide public attention.
A Bloomberg report published on Feb.2 said: “China’s capital
account posted the widest deficit since at least 1998
in the fourth quarter."
The report quoted a senior economist, who said that this fact
signals a shift in China’s economic structure.
“The expectation of Yuan depreciation has appeared
and that helped the capital outflow," said the analyst.
The CCP Remove Leaked Report of Building a Second Aircraft Carrier
On Jan.31, the municipal government of Changzhou City,
Jiangsu Province, and the city’s Evening Newspaper leaked
that the CCP is currently building a second aircraft carrier.
The government boasted on official weibo, saying “a local
firm has won a contract to supply electrical cabling for
the carrier".
The report, however, was quickly quashed but it has
already drawn wide attention from western media.
Several media reports all mention that, this news is
a reminder of the CCP’s military aggressiveness,
and the assertive posture that the Communist regime has been
displaying in the East and South China seas issues.
HK Ming Pao Employees Strike against New Editor-in-Chief for
Deleting Report of Tiananmen Massacre
Nearly a hundred employees of HK Ming Pao went on
a one-hour strike on Tuesday (Feb.3).
They held up slogans in front of the newspaper office to protest
against Chong Tien-siong, Ming Pao’s new editor-in-chief.
Chong has ignored opinions of the entire editorial staff,
and decided to remove an article on the 1989 Tiananmen
Square Massacre from Monday’s front page.
HK Alliance quickly made a statement that Chong’s decision
is a violation of freedom of the press and news reportage.
The Alliance question whether Chong intended to dodge
talking about the truth of the June Fourth massacre, and whether
there are backstage bosses involved in the incident.
