当代“缇萦救父”案今日开庭
我们一直持续报导的,被誉为当代“缇萦救父”的唐山女大学生卞晓辉案,12号在河北石家庄再次开庭审理。北京律师蒋援民出庭为卞晓辉做无罪辩护。
卞晓辉的父亲卞丽潮,因为信仰法轮功被非法判刑12年。去年12月8号开始,石家庄监狱在不出示任何文字说明和规定的情况下,长期拒绝卞晓辉对父亲的探视。23岁的卞晓辉,今年3月因为要求探望父亲,连陪同前往的母亲,和表姐陈英华一起被抓。
成都数百名村民维权被镇压
为了抗议当地政府占用土地,拆迁补偿不公,四川成都新都区木兰镇梁胜村的几百米村民,从这个月9号开始,连续3天阻断成青(金)快速路讨说法。
11号,村民们遭到警察的镇压,10名村民被抓捕。当天晚上,村民一度围堵大约30名进村的警察数小时,为被抓捕的村民讨说法。
长沙村民维权被殴 多人住院
湖南省长沙市雨花区金井村的几百名村民,11号在阻止开发商动工时,遭到500多名警察的镇压,多人被打伤入院,近20人被抓捕。
据了解,金井村的村官欺骗村民,私自将村民土地卖给开发商,引发村民的不满。几百名村民从11月底开始维权,阻止开发商施工并持续至今。

Hearing Takes Place for College Student’s Trial
Bian Xiaohui is a female college student from Tangshan City.
Her case went to trial on Dec. 12 in Hebei Province.
Her lawyer is Beijing attorney Jiang Yuanmin.
They have pleaded not guilty.
Her father Bian Lichao was illegally sentenced to 12 years
in prison for his practice of Falun Gong.
Since last Dec. 8, Bian Xiaohui’s request to visit her father
in prison has been declined without any explanation.
This March, the 23-year old Bian Xiaohui was arrested
along with her mother and cousin Chen Yinghua
due to their demandx to visit her father in jail.

Hundreds of Chengdu Villagers Suppressed
To protest against the land seizure and unfair compensation,
hundreds of villagers of Chengdu City, Sichuan Province,
have blocked local speed way traffic for three days
since the 9th.
The police repressed the villagers on the 11th
and arrested 10 villagers.
In the evening, the villagers once contained about 30 police
in the village for hours out of the concern
for the arrested villagers.
Changsha Protestors Attacked, Several Hospitalized
Hundreds of villagers from Yuhua District, Changsha City,
tried to stop developers from construction on the 11th.
But 500 police were at the scene to suppress the protest.
Many were injured and hospitalized.
Nearly 20 people were arrested.
Accordingly, a village official deceived the locals
and sold the land to developers without villagers’ consent.
The angry villagers began the protest in late November.
The effort to stop the developers from construction
has been on going since then.
