薄熙来被撤除党内职务后，周永康的各种丑闻立刻被有江系背景的海外《明镜》网站大量曝光，内容涉及谋反、杀前妻、其他命案、淫乱、家族贪污等各个方面。
除了薄妻谷开来供出周永康是企图搞垮习近平及其他中共政治局常委的主谋外，“爆料王”樵夫向《博讯网》爆料说，薄熙来也揭露，是周永康向他透露了王立军出逃美领馆的消息。并交待说，周永康还要求他“立即采取行动，不惜任何代价将王立军弄出来”。
舆论认为，中共除掉周永康只是时间问题。时事评论员章天亮认为，现在江泽民为了自保，已经交枪了。而《大纪元》独家报导，北京消息人士透露，目前中共高层对如何宣布周永康被处理的理由“发生分歧”。报导说，关于周永康的犯罪事实，中共高层早已掌握，只是命案太大，涉及中共政权垮台问题，而有所顾虑。
2.中共当局不准海伍德遗孀离境
英国《每日电讯报》报导，命丧重庆的英国商人海伍德的朋友表示，他们为海伍德的妻子王露露感到担心，因为中共当局目前不允许海伍德的妻子带两个孩子离境前往英国。报导说，外界认为，英国外交部这时候不会对王露露伸出援手，而王露露也可能不符合在英国永久居留的资格。
3.海南莺歌海镇周五继续万人示威
海南莺歌海镇近万村民因反对兴建发电厂，连日来，与数千防暴警察爆发激烈冲突，多人受伤后，邻村丰塘村也加入抗议，同样遭警察施放催泪弹镇压。星期五，当地再有超过万人在镇政府外示威游行，敦促当局撤销兴建电厂计划，并要当局承担被打伤村民的医疗费。目前莺歌海镇仍有数千警察驻守，当局以放人为筹码，要求村民停止抗议，被释放的一名伤重老人生命危在旦夕。
4.艾未未起诉北京税务部门
中国著名异议艺术家艾未未的税案再次引起关注，艾未未4月13号表示，已向法院递交了控告北京第二税务局的诉状，法院将在一周内就是否接受审理做出决定。他指出，北京税务人员在“发课公司”的税案中，有关证人、证据和银行账号方面错误百出。
