薄熙來被撤除黨內職務後，周永康的各種醜聞立刻被有江系背景的海外《明鏡》網站大量曝光，內容涉及謀反、殺前妻、其他命案、淫亂、家族貪污等各個方面。
除了薄妻谷開來供出周永康是企圖搞垮習近平及其他中共政治局常委的主謀外，「爆料王」樵夫向《博訊網》爆料說，薄熙來也揭露，是周永康向他透露了王立軍出逃美領館的消息。並交待說，周永康還要求他「立即採取行動，不惜任何代價將王立軍弄出來」。
輿論認為，中共除掉周永康只是時間問題。時事評論員章天亮認爲，現在江澤民爲了自保，已經交槍了。而《大紀元》獨家報導，北京消息人士透露，目前中共高層對如何宣佈周永康被處理的理由「發生分歧」。報導說，關於周永康的犯罪事實，中共高層早已掌握，只是命案太大，涉及中共政權垮臺問題，而有所顧慮。
2.中共當局不准海伍德遺孀離境
英國《每日電訊報》報導，命喪重慶的英國商人海伍德的朋友表示，他們為海伍德的妻子王露露感到擔心，因為中共當局目前不允許海伍德的妻子帶兩個孩子離境前往英國。報導說，外界認為，英國外交部這時候不會對王露露伸出援手，而王露露也可能不符合在英國永久居留的資格。
3.海南鶯歌海鎮週五繼續萬人示威
海南鶯歌海鎮近萬村民因反對興建發電廠，連日來，與數千防暴警察爆發激烈衝突，多人受傷後，鄰村豐塘村也加入抗議，同樣遭警察施放催淚彈鎮壓。星期五，當地再有超過萬人在鎮政府外示威遊行，敦促當局撤銷興建電廠計劃，並要當局承擔被打傷村民的醫療費。目前鶯歌海鎮仍有數千警察駐守，當局以放人爲籌碼，要求村民停止抗議，被釋放的一名傷重老人生命危在旦夕。
4.艾未未起訴北京稅務部門
中國著名異議藝術家艾未未的稅案再次引起關注，艾未未4月13號表示，已向法院遞交了控告北京第二稅務局的訴狀，法院將在一週內就是否接受審理做出決定。他指出，北京稅務人員在「發課公司」的稅案中，有關證人、證據和銀行賬號方面錯誤百出。
