“A Girl Dressing Freely”
On May 31, China’s National Archives invited 70+
foreign journalists for a first time visit.
Journalists found from the Archive that the history
was like “a girl who can dressed freely”.
Scholars said, to restore the true history will mean
the communist regime will lose its legitimacy.
Foreign journalists were left with mixed feelings
after visiting China’s National Archives.
Reuters’ Ben Blanchard wrote: “China on Tuesday
cracked opened the door to its secretive national
archives but kept the lid on some of the most painful
parts of its history like the Cultural Revolution
and Tiananmen crackdown to protect
privacy and reputations. He adds that according
to the Director of China’s National Archives,
Yang Dongquan, opening of archives on democracy
movements’ suppression ‘will be delayed’.”
The AFP reporter wrote that families of the victims
said,China’s police mentioned for the first time
of compensation for Tiananmen Massacre’s victims.
UK Guardian’s Jonathan Watts wrote that before
the 22nd anniversary of the “6-4” crackdown,
Tiananmen Mothers issued a statement, rejecting
discussion of compensation with security forces,
because their proposal was secret
and did not mention to investigate the incident,
nor to make an apology, or to publish the truth.
Voice of America revealed that China’s archives’
open period is at least 30 years,
and could be extended after that.
To see historical records, learn the truth,
apparently people have to wait for a long time.
But mainland Chinese do not forget their history.
Recently, a dozen of people from all walks of life
broke through the police besiege on Tiananmen
and held a forum to mourn “6-4” massacre victims.
Sun Wenguang, a retired professor
of Shandong University, said the government (CCP)
deliberately blocks news on “6-4” massacre,
and tries to remove memories.
Hence this forum, to awaken people’s memories.
Sun Wenguang said to radio Sound of Hope:
“Many young people do not know of “6-4” massacre
due to the strong CCP blockade. The textbooks
do not mention it, media do not report it,
and foreign websites are blocked. We feel the forum
is to evoke memories and to refuse forgetting history,
inheriting the behest of the martyrs
to fight for freedom and democracy.”
Although gatherings about Tiananmen Massacre,
are harassed and threatened by the police,
since 08 four annual gatherings were held in Jinan.
Huang Liangtian, editor-in-chief of People magazine,
said, the history of the CCP is forged. If people know
the truth, CCP will lose the legitimacy of its ruling,
as many of its deeds could not be shown publicly.
Huang disclosed that CCP has many disreputable
issues on its relationship with Japan, SU, Mongolia.
The CCP is a traitor that sold out China. It forged
the history, covering up its initial years in power.
Not only people, but some CCP high officials
have asked for the historical truth to be restored.
Lin Biao, a meritorious CCP official, was labeled
a “counter-revolutionary” in the Cultural Revolution.
Lin Biao’s Qiu Huizuo and Huang Yongsheng
wrote the “Qiu Huizuo Memoirs”, published in HK.
The book describes Mao’s suppression on Lin,
and how Mao used Lin’s group as an excuse
to launch the Cultural Revolution.
“Qiu Huizuo Memoirs” caused a stir amongst CCP.
In a review for radio Sound of Hope, Wufan said
that Mao was a communist symbol, a creed,
but the reality revealed exactly the opposite.
