Attorney Daniel Glennon was so impressed by Shen Yun Performing Arts in Philadelphia that he and his family saw the show two nights in a row.

【英文说文解字】
各位读者好：
美国神韵艺术团来台演出四年了，目前正在澳洲演出，三月中旬马上就要第五度来台演出，每一次都是全新的节目，演出的整体美感、故事内涵以及众多舞蹈演员们的一致性与同步性（synchronization），都令观众们无比惊艳！David老师每年必看，而且看不只一场，现在也正在与台湾民众一块期待美国神韵艺术团第五度的来台演出！
本周的说文解字，David老师就来讲讲为什么synchronization这个看起来很深奥的字叫做同步性呢？这是因为syn-这个字首，与sym-, 都是和co-相同：together，一起的意思。
Synonym是同义字，syndrome是指综合病症，一般译做症侯群，就是指一种疾病发生时，通常会一起出现的症状。Synthesis合命题，综合的意思。synthetic rubber就是合成橡胶，synthetic chemistry 合成化学, synthetic substance合成物质、synthetic fibres 合成纤维。
那chron-这个字根，是“时间”的意思，所以一起的时间，因此就是synchronization“同步、同时”的意思，动词是synchronize！我们常听的高能物理中所讲的“同步加速器”，就synchronous accelerator，又叫synchrotron。
因为chron-是时间time的意思，所以 chronicle叫做编年史，chronology是年表的意思。chronic惯性的，一般说“慢性病”就是chronic disease。Chronometer则是记时仪器，尤指用于航海的精密记时计、天文钟等。
