3月5號，在前蘇共獨裁者斯大林去世60週年的當天，一份斯大林大清洗時代遭處決者的新版名單曝光。
這份以光碟形式出版的名單，由「紀念碑人權」組織編輯。新版名單包含了大約4千5百名遭處決者的姓名，和一些人的生平簡歷及相關照片。
「紀念碑人權」，是一個專門研究斯大林和共產黨政治迫害歷史的組織，這個組織的領導人羅津斯基向《美國之音》表示，70萬人在斯大林大清洗時代遭到處決，而多數人是在缺席的情況下被審判，秘密警察僅在處決那一刻，才向他們宣讀死刑判決，整個死刑判決的過程僅持續5到10分鐘。
在俄羅斯，今天許多人都把斯大林稱為「暴君」和「食人惡魔」。報導說，俄羅斯著名政治人物亞夫林斯基表示，俄羅斯應該完全去斯大林化，並對共產黨統治的犯罪行為做出評價。他還呼籲，應該對當年紅色恐怖受害者和他們的家屬提供賠償。
記者網絡反腐遭傳喚 公知徹夜守候
大陸前媒體人、山西公民記者李建軍，3月5號被北京北新橋派出所警察傳喚，並限制他的人身自由超過24小時。
據《自由亞洲電臺》報導，李建軍表示，因為他在網上揭露山西水利廳長、人大代表潘軍峰的事情，才被警方傳喚。
3月4號，李建軍在「長微博」上，曝光山西洪桐縣「曲亭水庫潰壩事件」的黑幕，這次事件導致上萬人受災疏散、數次列車停運。而事件黑幕涉及全國人大代表、山西水利廳長潘軍峰，以及山西臨汾水利系統的官員。
李建軍被警察傳喚後，大陸多名媒體人和律師前往派出所聲援交涉，一些人徹夜守候。北京律師周澤和王誓華與警方交涉時表示，不能因為帖子涉及到人大代表就公器介入，限制人身自由。
蘇州千人圍堵城管 防暴警介入解圍
江蘇省蘇州市3月5號發生千人圍堵城管事件，大批防暴警察到場保護城管。
據《中國茉莉花革命》網站報導，當天，蘇州市相城區泰元農貿市場附近，上百名頭戴白色鋼盔的城管在驅趕街頭攤販時，與小販發生爭執，十多名城管圍毆一名女商販，導致商販昏迷，現場民眾近千人圍堵城管，不讓打人城管離開，期間雙方發生肢體衝突。
當局派出大批頭戴鋼盔、手持盾牌的防暴警察到場，向人群步步進逼，保護被圍堵的城管人員離開，然後進行強制清場。有消息說，現場有一輛警車被推翻。

Names Of Great Purge Victims Exposed
Russia celebrates the 60th anniversary of
Stalin’s death on March 5th.
The same day, a list of victims who were executed
during the Great Purge was revealed.
This list was compiled into DVD by ‘Memorial’.
It includes names of 4,500 victims, their short biographies and some photos.
‘Memorial’ is an organization dedicated ‘to promote
the revelation of the truth about the historical past and
perpetuate the memory of the victims of political
repression exercised by totalitarian regimes’.
The leader of ‘Memorial’Roginsky told Voice of America
that 700,000 people were executed during Stalin’s rule.
Many were sentenced without being physically present.
The secret police only announced their death sentences to
them moments before execution.
The entire process from trial, sentence to execution
often takes less than ten minutes.
In Russia, many people refer to Stalin as tyrant and
man-eating demon today.
It was reported that Russian liberal leader Yavlinsky said
Russia should eliminate any positive thoughts of Stalin totally.
They should recognize what happened as a crime.
He also calls for [the government] to compensate not only
victims of the Red Terror but their family members as well.
Reporter Exposes Scandal And Is Summoned By Police
Li Jianjun, reporter in Shangxi province, was detained for 24
hours at Beijing North New Bridge police station on March 5th.
According to Radio Free Asia, Li Jianjun said
police called him because
he exposed a scandal involving Chinese National
People’s representative, Pan Junfeng.
On March 4th, Li exposed the scandal behind the
dam breach in Qu Ting.
The breach harmed tens of thousands of people and
suspended traffic.
The scandal involves Pan Junfeng, a Chinese National People’s
representative and director of Shangxi water conservation.
Other officials from Shangxi water conservation
seem to be involved with the scandal as well.
After the news of Li’s detention came out,
media and lawyers went to the police station.
Some of them stayed there all night to show their support.
Beijing lawyer Zhou Zhe and Wang Shehua said they told the
police it is illegal to limit [Li’s] freedom just because the case
involves a Chinese National People’s representative.
Thousands Surround City Managers, Anti-Riot Police Intervene
On March 5th, several thousand people surrounded city
managers in Jiangsu province.
Many anti-riot police arrived to rescue the city managers.
According to China Jasmine Revolution (molihua.org),
more than one hundred white helmeted city managers got into
conflicts with street vendors while attempting to disperse them.
More than a dozen city mangers surrounded and hit a female
vendor, who then passed out on the spot.
Several thousand citizens at the scene surrounded the city
managers, preventing them from leaving.
The two parties got into physical altercations.
Chinese authorities then sent out anti-riot police
who marched towards the crowd to rescue the city managers.
Information says that a police car was turned over at the scene.
