《心中的宝塔》讲述的是修炼法轮功的两兄弟在中共迫害下的不幸遭遇。我看完后很长一段时间无法忘怀其中的一些情境。我也曾经因为参与和组织天安门民主运动被关进监牢和遭受酷刑，因此感受比一般人更深。
这些年我听过太多法轮功学员遭受严酷迫害的故事。我每一次听到，都会产生必须早日终结中共暴政的念头。很显然，如此践踏人权的社会是不适合人类生存的，我们必须改变它。更糟糕的是，现在的社会不是在往好的方面发展，而是正在急遽往下沉沦，因此我们更应该有一种紧迫感。
我跟该书的作者之一孟圆有过深入的交流，对她思维之严谨和洞察力之强有非常深刻的印象，尤其是她的坚忍不拔的毅力和乐观向上的精神令我非常感动。中国现在缺少的不是技术人才，而是有良知的知识份子。孟圆不仅是最优秀的技术人才，更是有良知的知识份子。她的这本《心中的宝塔》会让你感受到她的精神世界的力量，使你对她所信奉的真善忍产生更深刻的认识。

The biography “Pagoda of Light" chronicles two brothers’ tragic life journey as practitioners of Falun Gong under the persecution launched by the Chinese Communist Party. Some of the scenes in the book left a lasting impression on me after finishing reading. I also have been incarcerated and tortured in China because of my participation and leading roles in the democratic movement at Tiananmen square in 1989. As such I can relate much more intimately than most others.
Over the last few years I have heard too many stories of persecution and torturing of Falun Gong practitioners. Every time after I hear their stories, my opinion, that the violent regime of CCP needs to be abolished as soon as possible, is strongthened. Evidently, any government that can violate human rights like China does not belong in a civil society. We need to make a change. Even worse, the human right condition is not improving, but rapidly deteriorating, in the current Chinese society. This situation is urgent.
I have had deep conversations with one of the authors of the book, Yuan Meng. Her insights are quite impressive, and she is a master of rigorous logic. Her grit, tenacity and optimism are inspirational as well. China does not have shortage of technical talent, rather it needs intellectuals that has a sense of obligation and conscience. Yuan Meng does not only have exceptional professional talent, but also one that has strong character. I believe that her book Pagoda of Light will let you experience the strength of her spiritual world, and help you better understand the essence of her faith – truthfulness, compassion and forbearance.
