Anti-Corruption Hits High Levels Of Communist Central TV
The Communist regime targets its anti-corruption campaign
towards the CCTV.
Several department heads, anchors, the station director
and deputy director have been interrogated.
In particular, the CCTV Finance Channel has been hit
the hardest.
Almost everyday someone would be taken away.
The Finance Channel was where former Politburo Standing
Committee Zhou Yongkang’s wife Jia Xiaoye used to work.
The series of anti-corruption investigations at CCTV
is believed to be related to Zhou Yongkang’s case.
Since June, numerous Finance Channel personnel have been
taken away by prosecutors, including the Finance Channel
Director Guo Zhenxi, famous anchor Rui Chenggang,
and female anchor Ouyang Weichi, to name a few.
Mainland media revealed that both Guo Zhenxi and Rui
Chenggang’s private companies profit off
of their CCTV relations.
Hong Kong’s Ming Pao cited various sources on the 19th
that station director Hu Zhanfan, deputy director Luo Ming,
Gao Feng and others have all been interrogated.
CCTV insiders also revealed that the CCTV investigation
continues to reach into high levels as well as other
departmental executives.
The Finance Channel is the most frequently investigated.
Ming Pao indicated the CCTV anti-graft investigation began
with the downfall of Li Dongsheng, the former Deputy
Director of CCTV.
Li was considered Zhou Yongkang’s right arm.
Guo Zhenxi was also sacked six months after Li Dongsheng.
Since then, CCTV has been hit
by the anti-corruption campaign.
China’s social problems researcher Zhang Jian believes
the CCTV sweep is just part of Xi Jinping’s plan
to kill off the Zhou Yongkang faction.
Corruption exists in every CCTV department.
The reason why the Finance Channel is being hit
is because Zhou Yongkang’s wife and his followers
are closely connected with the Finance Channel.
Zhang Jian: “I think Xi Jinping has arranged the move-in
on CCTV a long time ago and now is the time.
We will soon see at some point in time that everyone related
to Zhou Yongkang will be attacked."
Zhang Jian points out that Xi Jinping has manipulated
the anti-corruption campaign to attack Zhou Yongkang’s
associates ever since he realized Zhou Yongkang’s
deep involvement in the mutiny.
Hong Kong’s Oriental Daily had reported on June 2
that five teams from the Central Discipline
and the Audit Department are conducting
the CCTV investigation.
At least 100 CCTV staff members have been interrogated,
many of whom have been taken away or arrested.
Oriental Daily added that sources in Beijing revealed
most CCTV anchors are multimillionaires.
Each executive owns at least a trillion yuan.
In fact, the CCTV monopoly has made it easy to grab fortune.
For example, last year a 10-second ad after the News
broadcast bid at 3.5 billion yuan.
Zhang Jian also points out the risk Xi Jinping
is taking in attacking the Zhou Yongkang faction.
The corruption is widespread in the regime.
Xi Jinping’s anti-corruption could split the interest group
and even anger a desperate young and vigorous group
in the army.
The renowned scholar Yuan Hongbing revealed Xi Jinping’s
situation in his book, “The Life and Death of Taiwan."
He described what Zhou Yongkang said when being arrested.
“Now he (Xi) won, he can raid my entire family.
But he cannot always be so lucky unless he abandons
the current policy.
Otherwise his fate will not be better than mine."
Xi Jinping is also engaged in rearranging
the propaganda system.
The regime mouthpiece, Xinhua News Agency, has two new
vice presidents and a deputy editor;
People’s Daily replaced the president, chief editor,
vice president and deputy editor within five days in April.
July 11, Beijing Daily had a new president
and party secretary.
Former president, Mei Ninghua, was listed as one
of 18 people involved in the Bo and Zhou coup plan.
Beijing political analyst Hua Po: “Beijing Daily’s Mei
Ninghua openly voiced his support for Bo Xilai.
Some of them even fell for Bo’s conspiracy totally.
Xi Jinping has to conduct this major cleaning in the
propaganda sector to hold on to the power of the ‘pen.'"
Hua Po indicates that Xi Jinping and the Central Propaganda
Department have held different views.
Former head of propaganda, Liu Yunshan, often carried out
his own plans, much to Xi Jinping’s frequent embarrassment.
Now, Xi Jinping feels it is time to purge
the propaganda system.
