【新唐人2014年02月21日讯】中共中央总书记习近平在北京，会见了台湾“中华民国”的国民党荣誉主席连战，以及随访人士。台湾媒体纷纷报导，连战强调大陆应正视并务实面对“中华民国”，习近平回应任何问题都可提出来谈。然而，中共官媒《央视》的相关报导，以及隔一天大陆主要媒体的相关报导，重点都放在“两岸同属中华民族”的立场上，对连战所提有关“中华民国”的内容完全没有提及。
在北京钓鱼台国宾馆登场的“连习会”分成三阶段，首先是习近平和连战访问团会面，随后连、习两人与核心幕僚继续晤谈，最后习近平夫妇设家宴款待连战夫妇。连战在二阶段小范围会谈时，提出了有关“中华民国”的观点。
连战强调，大陆应正视并务实面对“中华民国”，“中华民国”在两岸关系拓展过程是资产，不是负债，两岸应共同以务实态度正视现实。
对此，习近平表示，两岸政治分歧不应持续下去，任何问题只要对两岸有帮助，都可提出来谈。
台湾国民党中央评议委员林远：“现场连战跟习近平究竟怎么问题？怎么讲？这中间还不能确定，但我想中华民国这几个字，是连战提出来的，或许是有这回事。假如两边能够有初步的至少有这种场合见个面，或握个手寒暄几句的话，那么当然对于将来两岸的和平或两岸之间的走向，我想是一个正面的作法。”
美国西东大学亚洲学系退休荣誉教授杨力宇：“我觉得连习会是一个非常好的沟通管道，但是连战不能代表马英九，也不能代表国民党，也不能代表中华民国政府，只是一个沟通的平台，一个渠道而已。”
会晤当晚，大陆《央视新闻联播》节目以长达7分钟的篇幅，报导这场“连习会”。而后续的相关报导，大陆媒体根据《新华社》发出的基调，把重点放在“一中”和两岸人民同属中华民族等北京立场上，对连战提出有关“正视中华民国”的谈话，只字未提，全部避开。
然而海峡对岸的台湾，媒体的报导却都倾向于“正视中华民国”的这个话题。
“连战当面向习近平表示，中国大陆必须以务实的态度，正视中华民国存在的现实。”
杨力宇：“所以双方既然有很多矛盾又有很多问题，但是中共很会拉拢台湾的民生，很会促使台湾跟大陆合作，所以现在双方虽然有很多矛盾问题，但是经济、贸易、文化、教育的交流是非常的广泛，未来的发展很难预料。”
另外，在这次会晤过程中，习近平主动提及“马习会”，并询问连战对此事的态度。
杨力宇：“我想这主要还是统战，讨好台湾民生，争取台湾民生，我不认为有什么重大的改变，而且中共的政策是不可能改变，中共绝对不会同意马英九以总统身份来参加马习会，绝对不可能，因为这样一搞就变成两个中国，一中一台。大陆认为台湾是中国的一部分，这是中共很明确的立场，也不可能改变，所以中共还是把台湾当作地方政府，像香港一样。”
林远：“台湾到底将来要走哪个方向，或者走哪种制度或者方式，当然需要很多人提案，其实香港这个制度，我相信在台湾目前是绝对不会接受。”
事实上，台湾朝野立委就“连习会”也发表不同看法。台湾“国民党”立委费鸿泰表示，连战可以说是中国的传话人，但是绝对不是中国的代言人，基于两岸目前的互动情况，“马习会”还是有可能实现。
台湾在野的“民进党”立委蔡煌琅则表示，两岸政治对话的问题，只要中国尊重台湾的主权，任何政治协议都可以谈。

Two versions of One report, A Meeting between KMT Lian Zhan
and CCP Xi Jinping
The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Leader Xi Jinping,
interviewed Lian Zhan, who is the Honorary Chairman
of Kuomintang (KMT) of Taiwan “The Republic of China"
and the retinue.
Taiwan media reported, Lian Zhan emphasized Mainland
Authorities have to pragmatically face up
to the reality of “The Republic of China".
Having any further topics being raised by Xi Jinping, can
be further negotiated.
However, what the CCP’s official media CCTV reported
of the interview day in question,
and the mainstream Mainland media reported on the second day,
focused on the standpoint of “both sides of the Strait belonging
to the Chinese ethnic group".
They completely ignored all information relating to
“The Republic of China" mentioned by Lian Zhan.
The interview between Lian Zhan and Xi Jinping at Diaoyutai
National Hotel, was arranged in three stages.
First Xi Jinping interviewed Lian Zhan and the delegation,
then Lian Zhan, Xi Jinping and their inner circles
continued along with their talks,
then finally, Xi Jinping and his wife treated Lian Zhan
and his wife to a family banquet.
During the latter two episodes of the interview,
Lian Zhan raised the views pertinent to “the Republic of China".
Lian Zhan underscored, Mainland has to pragmatically
face up to the reality of “the Republic of China",
which is an asset for developing bilateral relationships
rather than creating debts,
hence both sides having to work together to face up to the
reality in a way that’s both rational and down to earth.
Regarding this matter, Xi Jinping says the political discrepancy
on both sides should not continue any longer,
that with any topics helpful for developing the bilateral relationship,
can be raised for further talks and negotiation.
Central Commentator of Taiwan KMT Lin Yuan:
“How is the meeting between Lian Zhan and Xi Jinping going?
What do they talk about? This so far is unconfirmed.
But I think, ‘The Republic of China’ is raised by Lian Zhan,
and this might have some truth to it.
If both sides can meet each other half way and talk,
then this is of course a positive move for further ensuring
a direction of peace and future prospects between both sides."
Emeritus Professor Yang Li Yu of Asian Department
of West and East University of America:
“I think the interview is a very good negotiation channel.
But Lian Zhan cannot work on behalf of Ma Yingjiu,
nor the KMT, let alone the Government of the
Republic of China.
This is just a negotiation platform and a channel."
On the night of the day of the interview,
The News Network Show program of Mainland CCTV,
broadcast the interview, lasting seven minutes.
Based on the keynote set up by Xinhua News Agency,
the following relevant reports on Mainland media,
focused on “One China" and of both sides belonging to
the Chinese ethnic group,
which is the usual standpoint held by the Beijing Authorities.
All reports have avoided “face up to the Republic of China"
as mentioned by Lian Zhan, without any coverage of it.
However, Taiwan media did report on the interview,
highlighting the topic “face up to the Republic of China".
In a face to face conversation,Lian Zhan said to Xi Jinping,
“Mainland China has to pragmatically face up to the existing
realities of the Republic of China."
Yang Liyu: “The bilateral relationship has many conflicts
as well as many problems.
But the CCP is good at alluring Taiwan in to cooperating
with Mainland, via the topic of Taiwan’s livelihood.
So despite the many conflicts between both sides, there is a very
wide exchange in the fields of economy, trade,
culture and education.
So the future development is hard to forecast just yet."
In addition, during the interview, Xi Jinping actively mentioned
“The interview between Xi Jinping and Ma Yingjiu",
asking what attitude Lian Zhan has to this matter.
Yang Liyu: “I think this is mainly a means of a united front
to pander to Taiwanese people’s livelihood,
thus attracting the support of the Taiwanese people.
I don’t think this will trigger any major changes to come
and it is impossible for the CCP to change their policies.
The CCP have never agreed that Ma Yingjiu joined the meeting
with Xi Jinping via an identity of the president
of the Republic of China."
There is just no possibility of anything like this happening.
Because such a deal would lead to “Two China’s"
or “One China & One Taiwan".
Mainland recognizes Taiwan is one part of China and this
is a clear standpoint of CCP, its difficult to change.
So the CCP still regards Taiwan as a local government,
much like Hong Kong."
Lin Yuan: “Which direction is Taiwan likely to take?
The way of the regime or some other way?
Of course there are many views and opinions.
Actually, Hong Kong’s regime I believe to be absolutely
unacceptable to the Taiwanese people currently."
In fact, the Congressmen of both ruling and opposition parties
in Taiwan express different views.
Legislative member of Taiwan KMT Fei Hongtai says,
Lian Zhan is a messenger, but never a spokesman.
In terms of the current interactive situation of both sides,
the interview between Xi Jinping and Ma Yingjiu
is possible to achieve some success.
The opposition legislative member Cai Huanlang says,
the dialogue between two sides of the Strait can be
carried out for negotiating any political agreement.
As long as Taiwan’s sovereignty is respected by the Mainland
authorities of China.
