saying that police quickly warned everyone that evening
not to comment about it or spread related news.
One Japanese man was injured in the incident, so the Japanese
government requested China provide more details.

Human Rights Activists Investigate Shen Yong’s Death
Shanghai petitioner Shen Yong, whose home was illegally
demolished, died under strange circumstances.
On Oct. 28, more than 20 lawyers and activists
issued an open letter.
The letter urges the public to form a team to investigate
the truth of Shen Yong’s death.
Last Thursday, Shen Yong was detained by police for
two hours due to the dispute over the demolition.
He died after he was returned home. His body had bruises and
there were strangulation marks found on his neck.
The police forcibly removed his body the next day.
His mother was also taken away by the police,
no one knows her whereabouts.
Pudong New District regime announced that the autopsy
report indicates Shen died of natural causes.
Apparently there is no evidence showing police used violence.
Radio France Internationale reported that Beijing human rights
lawyer Jiang Tianyong commented.
Jiang says regarding Pudong regime’s autopsy report,
even they themselves don’t believe it.
If Shen died of natural causes, why was his mother taken
away and has now disappeared?
Why did Shen’s body have bruises?
Sources say that members of the human rights observation
team will go to Shanghai to investigate the case.
