Chinese Communist Party’s Beidaihe Conference May Be Used
To Discuss The Bo Xilai Case
Public concern about the Bo Xilai case arose prior to the
forthcoming Chinese Communist Party (CCP) conference.
Rumors are spreading that Bo’s trial will start soon.
During the last couple of days, many oversea media
quoted news from Lianhe Zaobao:
This said that Bo Xilai’s trial may be in Jinan city Shandong
province’s Intermediate People’s Court either July or August.
Court staff said they weren’t sure about it.
Political experts say the Bo Xilai trial may well happen before
the 3rd plenary session of 18th CPC Central Committee this fall.
The CCP top levels may discuss the trial
during the Beidaihe conference this summer.
The Beidaihe conference often happens between
the end of July and the middle of August.
The 3rd plenary session of the 18th CCP Central Committee
is expected to happen in September or October.
So Bo’s trial has a greater chance of happening
during August or September.
Chinese Communist Party Article Deleted.
Netizens Question: Is It A Rumor?
The overseas edition of the Chinese
Communist Party media “People’s Daily”
reproduced an article in full from Lianhe Zaobao,
which is a rare action.
Concerned Mainland netizens question:
“Is the People’s Daily oversea edition spreading rumors?
Where was the information from?”
However, the article was deleted on People’s Daily website
in less than 12 hours, which makes it more mysterious.
People commented online saying that
the information is strange.
First, the source was from oversea media.
Second, Bo Xilai’s health condition is not good.
Is he dying?
Third, the information was deleted within 12 hours.
People think it is very abnormal the Party media’s overseas
edition quoted another country’s news describing internal affairs.
OneThousand Nanning Police Forcibly Demolished Houses,
Injuring Citizens
Violent conflict happened in Nanning city of Guangxi province
when police forcibly demolished houses. Many were injured.
Molihua.org, a Chinese pro-democracy protest website said
that nearly a thousand police, urban management staff, and
security teams demolished factory dorms at Maoqiao cement
factory, Qingxiu district, Nanning City, on July 12.
Residents resisted demolishing the houses. Violent conflict
happened on both sides. Several people were injured.
Apparently, Qingxiu district government needs to requisition
Maoqiao cement factory dorm land to build a high-speed rail.
About a third of residents didn’t sign the contract due to
unreasonable levels of compensation.
So the local government tried to solve the problem by violence.
