【禁闻】莫言惧谈言论自由 再提安检笑柄

【新唐人2012年12月11日讯】9号,在瑞典领取“诺贝尔文学奖”的中国大陆作家莫言,到“斯德哥尔摩大学”与听众现场交流。在被问及大陆的言论自由问题时,莫言再次为中共当局辩护称,言论审查就像是在机场接受安检,非常正常。这一说法,让现场听众不以为然,也被专家学者视为笑柄。下面请看本台记者的报导。

大陆作家莫言9号到瑞典“斯德哥尔摩大学麦格纳礼堂”朗诵作品,并与听众交流。会上莫言再次被问及中国的言论自由等“敏感问题”。

实际上,作为中共体制内的作家协会副主席,莫言来到瑞典后,一直在尽力避免回答类似问题,有时则讲一些故事来搪塞。这一次再次遭遇敏感问题,莫言号称,他不愿意回答政治问题,因为他是文学奖得主,而不是政治奖得主,应该让政治家去回答政治问题。

深圳独立作家朱健国:“从他的讲话来讲,看起来他是在讲故事,没讲政治,实际上他是在按照国内的政治要求在讲话。就是不能公开的批评中国当下的政治薄弱环节。”

深圳独立作家朱健国还指出,莫言为了不触动大陆当局,于是选择“说谎话”。

朱健国:“就说我们现在不要谈政治,只谈文学。中国文学的传统就是文以载道,它必然要跟政治、跟现实紧密的联系。一个有良知的作家也必然要跟政治、跟现实紧密联系。”

朱健国谈到,实际上莫言在作品中对政治、和对现实有一定的批判和讽刺。但在公开发言的时候,他为了回避自己的软弱、只好按照当局的意愿来撒谎。

在这次会上,莫言不得不谈及中国的言论自由状况,他再一次重复了6号出席记者会的言论,他辩称:中国有书报检查,西方也有。检查无所不在,言论审查也是如此,就像是机场安检一样。他举例说,自己去西方国家申请签证,也要受到审查。

对此,美国汉学家林培瑞(Perry Link)在接受《德国之声》专访时表示,莫言一直在试图玩两面化的语言游戏,讨好当局也迎合市场。莫言对中共集权制度作了很多妥协,比如包括﹕参与抄写毛泽东语录等。而莫言关于“言论审查就像是机场安全”的比喻,则堪称是最可笑的一件事情。林培瑞还认为,单从文学上来讲,莫言也不是一个顶尖的作家。

朱健国:“让他得这个诺奖,本来就是戏剧性的。这里面可能有方方面面的原因。因为诺奖委员会需要迁就下中国(中共),也可能有更深的意义。”

朱健国分析,莫言并不是中国最好的作家,他的得奖是一种政治的考虑,而不是纯文学的评选。诺奖委员会可能希望通过颁奖给莫言,这位中共作协官员,来迫使中共承认诺奖本身,从而来讽刺中共以前对诺奖获奖者的否定。

江苏网络作家顾志坚也对《新唐人》表示,莫言的表现让人感到很失望,但他的这种表现恰恰说明中国糟糕的言论自由现状。

顾志坚:“莫言这种讲话,实际上更加直接反映了,在中国言论自由严重受到禁锢。而且实际上莫言这种表现,我觉得恰好能说明中国的一种状况。”

顾志坚谈到,莫言的获奖,很可能会使更多大陆作家效仿莫言投机取巧,两头讨好:尽力不触动当局,同时又试图获得社会的共鸣。顾志坚强调,这些没有社会责任感的作家,他们虽然很清楚中国社会充满苦难的根源在于中共专制,但他们往往只限于描写苦难本身,而不愿或者不敢去向公众揭示苦难的根源,从而造成民智被蒙蔽,苦难也在不断继续。

Mo Yan Unwilling to Comment on Freedom of Speech

Chinese writer Mo Yan and winner of the Nobel Prize
for Literature is in Sweden to attend the award ceremony.
During his trip he met with academic community
at Stockholm University on December 9.
Mo was asked about freedom of speech in China, and again
defended Chinese Communist Party’ (CCP) regime.
He said, CCP’s censorship is normal,
just like security checks at the airport.
This statement was not received well by the audience,
and was viewed as a laughing stock by experts and scholars.

On December 9, Chinese writer Mo Yan read his work
at the Magnéli Hall of Stockholm University, and answered questions from the audience.
Mo Yan was once again asked “sensitive questions,”
such as about the freedom of speech in China.

Vice chairman of Chinese Writers Association, Mo Yan has
been trying to avoid such questions during his trip in Sweden.
Sometimes he would even tell stories,
just to divert the question.
This time Mo Yan said he doesn’t want to answer political
questions, as he is the winner of literature, not politics.
And that politicians are the ones
who should answer political questions.

Zhu Jianguo, independent writer: “What he said
seems to be stories, not politics.
But he is following China’s political request,
which is not to publicly criticize China’s weaknesses.”

Zhu Jianguo pointed out that in order to not offend
the CCP, Mo Yan chose to “tell lies.”

Zhu Jianguo: “Take what he says on not talking
about politics, but only talking about literature.
Traditional Chinese literature is about statesmanship,
and must be close to politics and reality.
A writer with conscience must connect closely
with politics and reality.”

Zhu Jianguo said that in fact Mo Yan has certain criticism
and irony on politics and reality in his work.
But speaking publicly, in order to avoid his weakness,
he had to lie according to the CCP’s directions.

During this meeting, Mo Yan was not able to avoid
commenting on freedom of speech in China.
He repeated his statement
from the press conference on December 6.
He claimed, censorship of press exists in China,
the same way as in the Western world. It is everywhere.
Censorship of speech is like security checking
at the airport, Mo added.
And gave an example that when he went to apply for a visa
to a Western country, his application was checked too.

U.S. China expert Perry Link said during his interview with
Deutsche Welle that Mo Yan was trying to play language games to flatter the CCP and the market.
Mo Yan has given in much to the CCP dictatorship,
like participating in copying Mao Zedong’s statements.
What is most ridiculous is Mo Yan’s comparison
of censorship of speech to airport security checking.
Perry Link also does not think Mo Yan is a great writer
from the literature point of view.

Zhu Jianguo: “Letting him receive
the Nobel Price is dramatic.
There might be a variety of reasons,
like the Nobel committee needing to give in to the CCP.”

Zhu Jianguo analyzed, Mo Yan is not the best writer
in China. Awarding him is a political move.
The Nobel committee might hope to get CCP’s acceptance
of the price by awarding a CCP’ Writers Association official, and satire CCP’s past denial of Nobel Prize winners.

Jiangsu Province Internet writer Gu Zhijian told NTD
that Mo Yan’s behavior is disappointing, and proves the bad situation with the human rights in China.

Gu Zhijian: “What Mo Yan said actually reflects
the serious suppression of freedom of speech in China.”

Gu Zhijian said that Mo Yan’s award might make
more Chinese writers copy him and be opportunists:
to try their best not to offend the CCP authorities;
and to get support from the outside world.
Gu Zhijian emphasized that such writers have no sense
of social responsibility.
Although they know clearly CCP is the source of hardships
of the Chinese society, they only write about the hardships, and are not willing to disclose the source of the problems.
This only makes people become even more blind-folded,
and prolongs the hardships.
