New Leadership Deal with Core Crisis of the CCP
The many difficulties and various historical issues faced
by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) new leadership did not end with the conclusion of the power transition.
Each of the many issues related to human rights, economic
and political reform, diplomacy, etc. may trigger the collapse of the CCP.
Then, what is the core of these problems?
How will the new leadership deal with them?
At noon on November 15, the long-awaited seven
CCP Standing Committee members appeared together.
Xi Jinping, Secretary-General of the CCP, acknowledged
during his “debut" that the CCP is in a serious crisis.
He requested, “the whole party be on alert.”
Then, what is the crisis the CCP is in?
Renowned U.S. China expert Gordon Chang told
The Epoch Times that human rights violations are the core of China’s problems.
The CCP’s stained human rights record is well known.
Each year, the U.S. Department of State submits
human rights reports by country to the U.S. Congress,
with a large amount of information proving the facts,
and China’s human rights situation always deteriorates.
The 2012 report disclosed for the first time cases
of live organ harvesting of Falun Gong practitioners conducted by the CCP,
after Wang Lijun fled to the U.S. Consulate with
large amounts of evidence material.
This disclosure caught the world’s attention to
Falun Gong practitioners’ sufferings in China.
Meanwhile, the “Bo Xilai and Wang Lijun Storm” caused
unprecedented internal struggles among the CCP.
“The issue of Falun Gong” has become the core issue
the CCP cannot get by.
Among the seven new CCP Standing Committee members,
four are under investigation by the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong.
They are Zhang Dejiang, Yu Zhengsheng, Liu Yushan
and Zhang Gaoli.
Commentator Lan Shu pointed out that such an arrangement
ofthe seven-member Standing Committee is mainly due
to the CCP’s cover up of the Bo Xilai and Wang Lijun incidents,
and live organ harvesting of Falun Gong practitioners.
Lan Shu: “If the CCP conducted a thorough investigation
of live organ harvesting,
it could have stopped the ‘Bloody Hands Faction’
from obtaining the highest power. But it did not.
Only investigating into Bo Xilai’s corruption is to avoid
the crimes against Falun Gong, organ harvesting and the crimes committed by the country overall.”
Lan Shu thinks it is impossible for the CCP to conduct
any reform with its unwillingness to carry out investigations
into officials who committed “genocide” and “anti-humanity”
crimes.
Lan Shu: “Political reform will threaten the ‘bloody-hands
faction.’ These people have ‘blood’ on their hands.
They are secure as long as the current system continues.
Of course they do not want reform.
Then if you think about it, not only the Falun Gong issue
cannot be solved, the June 4th issue cannot be solved either.
Any political system reform is impossible.”
Regarding the new leadership’s attitude towards Falun Gong,
Columbia Univ. Ph.D. of political science Li Tianxiao thinks
the unspoken policy might be a continuation of the Hu era’s
“No Comment Openly, “but the persecution will continue with Jiang’s faction.
He thinks, as Xi Jinping and Li Keqiang do not have
blood on their hands, there might be some changes.
Li Tianxiao: “Li Keqiang and Xi Jinping do not have blood
on their hands regarding Falun Gong.
With people’s demands for the re-evaluation of Falun Gong
and bringing Jiang Zemin to justice, coupled with
international pressures and news of Organ Harvesting,
there may be re-evaluation on Falun Gong led by Xi Jinping and Li Keqiang.”
Foreign media referred to Xi Jinping as “The Last Emperor."
Xi Jinping said, “Everyone’s time is limited, but serving people
wholeheartedly is unlimited" and “People are creators of history.
Our objective is the good life that people are long for.”
The whole world is waiting to see.
