Chinese Communist Party Mouthpiece Reports Details of Wang Lijun Trial
Wang Lijun, is the leading cause of Chongqing
Party Secretary Bo Xilai’s downfall.
Wang has been charged on four
counts, and went on Sept 17-18.
On Sept.19, the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP)
mouthpiece Xinhua reported details of the hearing.
It also mentioned the inside story on Wang Lijun case.
International media also cited the report.
BBC Chinese online reported that Xinhua news indirectly
mentioned Bo Xilai, former Chongqing Party secretary.
Radio France Internationale (RFI) said Chinese state
media reported details of the Wang Lijun trial.
It said Bo Xilai’s trial is on its way.
RFI said that Wang Lijun was a key person in carrying
out Bo’s campaign of ‘Singing red songs and anti-corruption’.
His decisions also directly led to Bo’s downfall
and the collapse of the “Chongqing Model”.
Wang’s decisions weren’t favored by Bo,
nor the followers of the Chongqing Model.
Wang himself was part of the Chongqing Model,
and no matter whether his role was good or bad, he can’t be completely separated from it.
Some comments have said that Wang
saved China by changing it’s direction.
Anti-Japanese Protests Cooling Down. U.S. Ambassador Car Attacked
Recently, anti-Japanese emotions ignited in China.
Sources said that anti-Japanese
protests took place in over 100 cities.
Protests in front of the Japanese Embassy
in Beijing lasted for 8 days.
Protests were said to have been
manipulated by the authorities.
After the 9-18 day of commemoration, Beijing’s
anti-Japanese protests are cooling down.
The roads in front of Japanese Embassy
have re-opened, and all protesters have dispersed.
It is considered to have been used as a distraction
from the CCP power transferal during the 18th congress, and to ‘maintain social stability’.
On September 19 media reported that US Ambassador,
Gary Locke’s car became another target of violence.
In the afternoon of Sept.18, when Locke traveled back
to the Embassy building by car, tens of Chinese protesters began to attack in front of the gate.
They shouted “Down with American Imperialism!"
with people ripping off and stepping on U.S. flags.
Voice of America reported that the US ambassador’s
car was attacked, causing concern among netizens.
Netizen Jia Jia@jiajia asked, can anyone tell me, what force
can so accurately find Japanese and US ambassador’s cars,
and surrounding them and pull off their flags?
Over the past years, it has never happened like this,
however, recently this has happened twice within a month.
Who is the Real Traitor?
During the anti-Japanese protests on Sept 18, an elderly
Man was attacked after disagreeing with the use of the slogan “Chairman Mao, We miss you!"
After the elderly man said that this slogan was wrong,
and not realistic, a young man began slapping his face.
The young man said that the elderly man was abusing Mao.
Both then proceeded to call each other a traitor.
On the morning of Sept.19, netizens thought the young man
looked like Professor Han Deqiang, at Beihang University.
The picture of the elderly man being slapped was circulated
online, and Han Deqiang promptly responded.
Han said that for him, whoever abuses
Mao Zedong is a traitor and a Japanese spy.
One blog questioned his character, in being a scholar,
yet beating an elderly man without a word of remorse.
Is the relationship between another nation and the CCP
the same issue as that of a CCP leader?
Is being against Mao acting as a traitor and Japanese spy?
According to this logic, what do you call a person
who was is against Chiang kai-shek?
