全球瞩目的谷开来案庭审，虽然已经结束，但是西方媒体对案件背后真相的探寻并没有停止。
最近，英国《电讯报》引述知情人士的话说，中共对谷开来的庭审，是经过事先反复精心排练过的。两名中共官员甚至穿上西服，模仿被邀请的英国外交官，让谷开来练习在众人审视的目光下如何反应和举手投足。
报导说，中共当局为谷开来法庭现身撰写的脚本，是一个审判秀。对于英国人海伍德和中共高调政治新星薄熙来以及妻子谷开来之间的关系，完全是编造出来的。中共撰写的脚本或许能蒙骗中国人，却欺骗不了西方人。
《温哥华太阳报》也指出，英国人没有绑架他人解决商业纠纷的习俗。而且与妻子和孩子一起生活在北京的海伍德，如何能够在英国绑架在美国读书的薄瓜瓜？
《温哥华太阳报》评论说，海伍德之死，对于在中国做生意的外国投资者是一个严重警告。不管外国投资者有多硬的关系，在中共努力塑造顺利权力交接的时候，他们的安全都没有保障。
港媒：18大最快9月下旬召开
决定中共下届党魁领导班子的中共十八大的开会时间，外界一直传言纷纷，8月15号，又有香港媒体报导说，最快可能会在9月下旬召开。
据香港《明报》引述北京消息，目前18大政治报告的起草工作已经结束，正在征求修订意见。报导说，对薄熙来作结论的中共17届7中全会，可能在9月中旬召开﹔而18大则可能在9月下旬召开，在大陆“十一”前夕结束。
另外，据大陆媒体报导，中共国务院总理温家宝8月14号到浙江调研经济运行情况。他在浙江现身的消息，也让外界猜测，被称为中共十八大前“宫廷密谋”的“北戴河会议”，可能已经结束。
16名警察集体进京抗议司法腐败
8月15号，来自全国各地的16位蒙冤警察代表，聚集在北京卢沟桥边，集体抗议中共当局的司法腐败，并以《公开信》的形式向中共高层提出三点要求。
这些蒙冤警察曾经是政法系统的警官，后来成了冤假错案受害人，他们多年上访，状告无门。也由于长期上访，他们多数被地方政府，视为“维稳”重点人物，面临着被关进黑监狱、劳教，甚至判刑的危险。

Western Media: Gu’s Trial was Rehearsed in Advance
The global attention-grabbing trial of Gu Kailai has ended.
However, the Western media have continued
to explore the truth behind the case.
The UK’s Telegraph cited informed sources saying that
the trial “was rehearsed repeatedly".
“Two Chinese officials even donned suits like the British
consular officials who were to be invited to attend the hearing."
They helped Gu Kailai to “practice how to react and
behave while under scrutiny."
A review article published on the Vancouver Sun called
Gu Kailai’s trial a “show trial," which followed “the script written by Chinese authorities."
“It is also a total fabrication of what we know of the business
and personal relationship between Heywood…and Gu and her husband, China’s most high-profile political rising star Bo Xilai."
“The narrative has to be credible for the Chinese public.
Whether or not it is credible to foreigners is beside the point…"
The commentary also pointed out, “How Heywood,
who was living in Beijing with his wife and children last year,
was able to kidnap Guagua in Britain
or in Boston last year the court was not told."
The article commented, “that careful writing of a narrative
[for Gu’s trial for the murder of Heywood] contains a stark warning for all foreigners doing business in China.” “No matter how good a foreigner’s business connections
seem, they are no guarantee of safety or protection
at a time when the Communist party is trying to portray
a smooth transfer of leadership to a new generation later this year."
Late September, the Earliest Time for 18th CCP Congress
Rumors kept being aroused on the decided time of the
18th Congress of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
On August 15, Hong Kong media reported that
the earliest time for the meeting may be in late September.
Hong Kong’s Ming Pao quoted sources in Beijing, saying that
the political report drafting for the congress has finished.
Now the soliciting of opinions on the revision in under way.
The news report said that the 7th plenary session of
the 17th CCP Central Committee may be held in mid-September.
The plenary session will give a final conclusion on Bo Xilai.
The 18th Party Congress may be held in late September
and be concluded on the eve of October 1.
China’s media reported on the CCP Premier Wen Jiabao’s
economic inspection visit to Zhejiang.
His appearance in public aroused speculations that
the Beidaihe meeting may have ended.
16 Policemen Protest Judicial Corruption
On August 15 in Beijing, 16 falsely convicted police
representatives from all over China openly protested the judicial corruption by Communist authorities.
They put forward three demands in an open letter
towards the CCP top leadership.
These policemen were former officers under
the Political and Legislative Affairs Committee.
Afterwards, they became the wrongly charged victims.
After years of petitioning, most of them have become
key targets of the local “stability preservation."
They are facing risks of being sent to black jails,
forced labor camps, or even sentenced to imprisonment.
