The Domino Effect of Wang Lijun Incident:
Bo Xilai Given “Shuanggui”,
Japan’s Sankei Shimbun has quoted several sources from
insiders of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) regime on March 20.
Bo Xilai, the former CCP Secretary of Chongqing,
has allegedly been placed under “shuanggui”, a form of CCP’s investigative detention for its officials.
Now “play-down of Bo” has been blatantly seen in Chongqing
and on the left-wing website that supports Bo.
Sankei Shimbun published an article, titled “Former Chongqing
senior official is arrested & steps down over his wife’s bribe taking".
Bo faces four accusations, which include bribery and
neglect of duty, the article says.
The CCP Central Discipline Inspection Commission has
demanded that Bo explain his wife’s graft and
what he has called his “oversight“ regarding Wang Lijun’s
attempted defection to the US consulate.
Sources have said that Bo will be moved to another city
for a formal Investigation of his case to be carried out.
The possibility cannot be ruled out
that he will face criminal charges.
On March 19, Deng Chun, reporter of Phoenix TV,
the CCP’s mouth piece media, posted another statement, saying on his micro-blog.
" I’ve heard that Bo has been placed under ‘shuanggui’,
the official instruction for this measure was issued the day before yesterday."
On March 20, a micro-blogger named “Hu Ling Phoenix TV”
Posted the statement:
“It seems that the report of the “shuanggui” order is reliable,
but let’s wait and see what the next step is.”
Tang Baiqiao, president of the Democracy Academy of China
in New York, says that after the Wang Lijun Incident occurred,
micro-blog news spread more quickly and accurately than in
the CCP and foreign media reports.
It is an inevitable outcome that Bo was given “shuanggui”.
Bo’s crime is more severe than that of Chen Xitong and Chen Liangyu,
and this is the most serious infighting among the
CCP leadership figures since 1949, Tang Baiqiao comments.
Tang Baiqiao says, “Bo Xilai actually challenged the CCP’s
top level authority figures, that is, Hu Jintao and Xi Jinping.
He attempted to grab the throne of the CCP regime,
this act was deemed to be overstepping the mark.
Infighting is always the last act in the fall of
tyrannical societies.
As happened in those dynasties over the past several
thousands of years, which collapsed after existing for a period of time.
Many of those collapses were connected with
and the result of infighting.”
Recently, Chongqing saw some citizens holding banners
in the downtown area in support of Bo Xilai.
Within less than two minutes, the banners were pulled down
when plainclothes police arrived and the supporters were taken away.
Chongqing has now banned singing of the red-songs, and
hanging the red five starred flag downtown is also prohibited.
A commercial pedestrian street full of five-star red flags
began removing the flags on March 19.
Wyzxsx.com, a Leftist website, has restored its online service,
although the content has been totally changed.
Its columns related to Chongqing have all been removed.
A major illegal fund-raising case in Yilishen that took place
several years ago in Liaoning has resurfaced.
The case involves 1.13 million ant farmers,
tens of billions of RMB were embezzled.
Bo reportedly had close ties with Yilishen’s president during
his tenure as Liaoning governor and Commerce Minister.
Liu Qikun (Commentator, Vancouver, Canada) says:
“The CCP officials are all corrupt. Bo’s anti-vice campaign is now called ‘the mafia’s anti-vice scam.’
His campaign was actually for excluding dissenters,
for fighting against his political opponents, and even for snatching properties.
These actions are violations of human rights and
as such are criminal acts."
Liu Qikun says that if Bo has really been placed under
“shuanggui”, he will most likely be subject to further punishment.
Hong Kong’s Apple Daily comments that, the Wang Lijun
Incident may turn into a watershed
that will signal the beginning of Jiang Zemin’s fall.
Bo’s promotion was recommended by Jiang.
If Jiang’s “general” Zhou Yongkang is found to be implicated
in this case, Jiang will face a much bigger blow, says the article.
According to Taiwan’s Apple Daily report, Wang Lijun handed
over data to the US authorities detailing the corruption of the CCP’s top leaders.
Politburo Standing Committee member Zhou Yongkang and
Wang Lijun both had primal roles in the persecution of Falun Gong.
U.S. Congress fully intends to get more information about
their involvement in “live organ harvesting" from Falun Gong practitioners in China.
This will eventually drag Jiang Zemin himself into the case,
according to the report.
Tang Baiqiao says, “Next, we’ll see more and more
higher-ranking officials being found guilty of serious crimes.
Or is it possible that Zhou Yongkang might strike back?
Let’s wait and see!
Then there’ll be a third wave and a fourth wave,
the first wave was Wang Lijun’s attempted defection, the second was Bo Xilai’s fall from grace.
Anyway, I believe that the setting in motion of the CCP’s
coming downfall is irreversible."
Tang Baiqiao points out that because of the interest in developments,
the state of fractional relationship within the CCP keeps changing.
That is, today they are enemies, tomorrow they may become friends,
It’s always the same with the CCP’s style of politics.
Liu Qikun estimates that the CCP will not go so far as to
punish a large group.
Although several of Bo Xilai’s close colleagues
will certainly be punished.
Liu Qikun says, “The CCP’s officials all rely on those in
power at the top.
When Bo was in office, he was followed by a gang of
apple polishers.
When he stepped down, these same people turned to others.
They even struck back to gain merit for themselves, and
claimed clear with Bo Xilai.”
Voice of America comments that China’s national fate shall
be decided by the top leaders’ in a fierce battle.
The outcome depends on who can get the army’s support.
Over 10 years, China’s military forces have kept growing,
now they have become a strength that can influence China’s politics.
