Wen Jiabao’s Family Persecuted
Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao has said that his family was often
persecuted by the authorities during Mao Zedong’s purge time.
Scholars believe, ending his term in about a year, Wen Jiabao
shows he knows of Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) guilt.
Wen Jiabao gave a speech at Nankai Middle School at the end
of October, saying his family suffered continuous persecution.
This was when Mao Zedong launched his political campaign.
Wen’s grandfather had died in the 60’s due to a stroke.
Now his file was kept in the school where he had taught.
The file contains many articles of confession and self-criticism.
His father was reviewed in the 60’s and was not allowed
to teach, so he was sent to a farm in the outskirts to tend pigs.
Zhang Weiguo, senior media expert, thinks with these details
Wen Jiabao wants to tell people that he knows of CCP’s guilt.
Zhang Weiguo: “CCP officials or their family experienced
the bitterness, evil, anti-humane and low moral’ CCP nature.
However, their vested interests, be they political, financial
or others, have tied them up.
They can only obey this machine
and speak against their conscience."
Senior officials’ families, including Hu Jintao’s, suffered too
a lot of persecution during Mao’s era, but never mentioned it.
Zhang Weiguo says that CCP is a totalitarian machine,
and has ruined the moral base line in many ways.
Officials claimed, “CCP is made of special materials,"
so they don’t care about human nature and human relations.
CCP has ruined traditional culture and destroyed relationships
between people during the last 60 years, said Zhang.
Zhang Weiguo: “No matter how good a person you are, once
you enter this machine, you will be like in a meat grinder.
If you disagree with this machine,
you will be minced to pieces.
If you agree with it, you will be assimilated
by it and become a screw in the machine.
If you want to survive, like the leaders in Zhongnanhai, you
would have to give up your principles, pursuits, and be devoid of your own conscience.”
Wen Jiabao also mentioned in his speech
about political views on social issues.
However, China’s increasingly acute social contradictions
and endless uprisings are like a powder keg about to erupt.
Beijing International City Development Research Institute
summarized them in nine categories of disputes.
Namely, disputes for: land; relocation; property; restructuring;
health; labor; pollution; lending; and locals vs. foreigners.
These disputes also show that the government has lost
its credibility, and society has lost its integrity.
Media reported that Wen Jiabao could not get support
from any of the two rivaling factions within CCP’s top level.
NTD commentator Zhao Pei said that Wen made his speech
on Oct. 25, but Tianjin Daily published it again on Nov. 3.
This is in response to Wen Jiabao’s speech,
the CCP is questioning his “moral decline statement."
He wants to tell CCP, its’ internal morals have collapsed
and it has lost support, facing the possibility of losing power.
