Root of Religious Persecution in China
On September 13, the U.S. State Department issued
an International Religious Freedom Report.
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said, last year the degree
of religious freedom in China showed an overall decline.
While this year, the problem with this issue has worsened.
Religious people comment that Chinese Communist Party
(CCP) wants to control all religions in China,
and it will suppress any religion beyond its control.
This is because the CCP endorses violence and killing,
and does not believe in the sanctity of the belief.
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton expressed that in China
different religious groups are likely to suffer intervention
by the CCP government. For instance, Tibetan Buddhists,
Uighur Muslims in Xinjiang and Christian Family Churches
across China, are all under the CCP’s restrictions
for their religious activities.
A Christian freelance writer Zan Aizong believes
that the CCP authorities want to control all religions in China,
turning them into its departments.
He estimates that the number of Chinese Christian believers
is about 70-80 million, but most of them are civilian groups
that have never been officially recognized by the CCP.
Zan Aizong: “The CCP wants to control all the religious
organizations. But in reality, this was beyond its capability.
So far in China exist two types of religious groups.
One is officially registered, and the other is purely civilian.
Without CCP recognition religious groups wanting to spread
religion to other places can meet with local obstacles.”
Dawa Tsering, Dalai Lama Religious Foundation Chairman,
said that Tibetan Buddhism, with a thousand years of history,
has its own set of system and rules, but it is forced
to change as to meet the CCP’s standards,
and that when Tibetan Buddhism was not willing to do so,
the CCP suppressed it by force.
Dawa Tsering: “CCP was reluctant to allow Tibetan Buddhist
to select their religious leader in the traditional way.
It wanted to appoint the Tibetan lamas as it appoints
a bureau chief or a section chief.
In the CCP’s logic, as long as a religious group
is not under its control, it will suppress it.
As to whether you do evil deeds or break the law,
the CCP completely ignores that.”
According to Dawa Tsering’s analysis,
as the CCP does not believe in the sanctity of a faith,
this combined with its worship of violence, results
in the CCP being accustomed to suppression by force.
Dawa Tsering: “The CCP believes that it can command
everything with guns, including beliefs and gods.
This is the reason for suppressing those faith believers
who have no way to reconcile or coexist with the CCP.
All the bloody repressions, all of the insults
have such a root cause.”
Dawa Tsering thinks that CCP’s suppressions are deceitful.
It shows one face to the international community,
but launches bloody repressions
towards domestic civilians.
He said that the CCP intentionally mixes concepts
of beliefs and witch craft, forcing Tibetans to attack
their own faith and monks to attack the Dalai Lama.
If a Tibetan doesn’t do so, he is labeled Tibetan separatist.
Dawa Tsering believes that religion is an important part
of human civilization,
and that to get truly strong,
China must have beliefs in its land.
As for the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong,
it is far beyond the concept of religious persecution.
Wang Zhiyuan, Spokeman of World Organization to
Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (WOIPFG),
said that the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong
is classified as a crime of genocide.
Wang Zhiyuan: “The CCP committed genocide,
crimes against humanity, torture and the like.
Thousands of Falun Gong practitioners have been
persecuted to death, disability, injury and are missing.
And more horrifying, the CCP is harvesting the organs
of alive Falun Gong practitioners,
keeping them as a source of live human organs,
a pool of human organs.”
Wang Zhiyuan appealed that governments around the world,
human rights organizations and kindhearted people
stand up to stop as soon as possible this evil persecution
that still continues happening in China.
Wang Zhiyuan expressed that WOIPFG will investigate
the criminal conduct of all institutions, organizations,
and individuals involved in the persecution of Falun Gong,
to full closure.
