Residents in southern Taiwan are confronted with a trail of destruction in the wake of Tropical Storm Nanmadol.

The Taipei Times reported that the man who died was killed by loose glass blown out from a window as he drove past on his scooter.

Rescue teams managed to save one man after he lost control of his truck and crashed into a ravine.

[Unidentified Witness]:
“He drove his truck over here, but he couldn’t stop his truck because the chain was broken so he fell into the valley."
Local media reports say eight bridges were also closed during the storm, and 200 flights were cancelled.
“他开卡车到这里，但他无法停住，因为铁栏干断了，所以他就掉到谷里去了。”当地媒体报导说，在台风期间，八座桥梁关闭，200航班取消。

Nanmadol was headed for mainland China after leaving Taiwan, though it was expected to lose strength along the way.
