According to US oil giant ConocoPhillips, the Bohai Bay oil spill in north-east China may be much bigger than initially thought. The company is partly responsible for the leak that took place in early June. It’s a recent discovery after authorities ordered ConocoPhillips to clean up the seabed by Sunday.
根据美国石油巨头康菲消息，在中国东北渤海湾漏油情况，比预先想像还要严重。六月初发生的漏油，该公司要负部分责任。这是最近才发现的，在当局下令康菲，在周日前清理海床之后。

ConocoPhillips said during the clean-up effort, they had discovered (quote) “additional oil-based drilling mud on the sea floor.” It pushes up the previous estimate of 1,500 barrels of oil that’s leaked into the ocean.

According to China’s State Oceanic Administration, or SOA, the spill has polluted 460 square miles. However, there is conflicting reports the affected area is more than triple that figure.
据中国国家海洋局（SOA）消息，漏油已污染460平方英里。然而，有冲突性的报导指出，受影响面积超过这数字的三倍。

The SOA has ordered ConocoPhillips to finish the cleanup by Sunday, a deadline the company is still hoping to make.
