Pro-CCP Drug Lord Sentenced
Hu Yang (Frank Hu), former director of
Australia-China International Exchange Centre,
has close ties with the high-level officials of
the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
Hu was sentenced to life imprisonment in Sydney
on July 22, for one of Australia’s largest cocaine hauls.
Analysts commented that this case exposes
the CCP’s mafia nature on the international arena.
On July 22, Downing Central Criminal Court in Sydney
delivered the verdict.
With a pair of glasses,
grey-haired Hu Yang walked into the courtroom.
However, before he reached his seat,
he suddenly tripped and fell.
This seems to imply that he has fallen from an influential figure
of Sino-Australian relations to a criminal brought to justice.
Judge Zahra announced two charges against Hu,
one for a life imprisonment and
the other for a 30-year jail term without parole for 21 years.
Other charges against Hu
will be announced on July 26.
The judge stressed that Hu had trafficked
an enormous amount of drugs and had caused serious damage
to the public security of the Australian society.
So, the sentence on Hu should be the most severe.
The court sentenced Hu to life imprisonment for
his “illegal trafficking of high-concentration drugs.”
Hu was also sentenced to 30 years in prison for
“harboring a large amount of illegal drugs”.
In consideration of other charges against Hu,
the non-parole period was set to be 21 years.
Judge Zahra said that in this largest drug trafficking case
in New South Wales,
as the principal culprit,
Hu Yang designed the entire drug trafficking plan,
invested a large sum of money to purchase the drugs,
organized and directed the entire process.
Hu was planning to invest his drug trafficking proceeds
into real estate.
Chen Yonglin, ex-political consul of the Chinese consulate
in Sydney, said that Hu’s case is a huge blow to the CCP.
The CCP will have to be more careful
in choosing its future representatives.
Chen said, since the CCP itself is nothing but mafia,
its relationship with other mafia groups is symbiotic.
Chen Yonglin: “I believe that more cases like this
will continue to be exposed in the future.
The CCP has a lot of cooperation with
the mafias in Hong Kong.
This case actually exposed the ugly face of the CCP
in front of the international community.
It has made the CCP to lose face completely.
Major Australian media once reported that
Hu is a political businessman.
He maneuvered among Sino-Australian high-level officials
and exerted his political influence.
Hu boasted of his links with the CCP president Hu Jintao and
his photo with ex-Australian Prime Minister John Howard.
He bribed and won over dozens of Australian MPs.
Hu organized trips for the pro-CCP officials to visit China,
in an attempt to disintegrate those Australian politicians,
who criticize the CCP.
This tactics of the CCP took effect.
When defected ex-CCP official Chen Yonglin lodged
asylum application to Australian immigration department,
the immigration officers notified
Chinese Consulate in Sydney.
The immigration officials even persuaded Chen
to go back to the Chinese Consulate.
Chen Yonglin: “There are many Chinese communities
that collude with the CCP, as Hu Yang did.
The CCP has established a network of
infiltration in Australia.
Its infiltration into Australian government and
mainstream society has damaged the rule of law in Australia.
Judge Zahra said that Hu carried out illegal activities as
director of Australia-China International Exchange Centre.
He used his links with Australian officials to cover up.
He thought he would stay safe with his social influence
and without directly carrying out the drug trafficking.
However, he came to the attention of Australia’s federal police
in Jan. 2008 due to suspicious bank account transactions and
his company taxation problems.
Hu Yang’s Australia-China International Exchange Centre
organized information sessions for some Australian MPs
and hosted many CCP-sponsored activities,
including international exchanges and
Australian delegations’ meeting with high-ranking CCP officials.
In the 30th anniversary of the diplomatic relationship
between Australia and the CCP,
Hu received a so-called “Outstanding Achievement” award
from the Chinese Consulate General in Sydney.
He was also invited to attend the CCP’s 50th anniversary
celebrations on Beijing’s Tiananmen Square.
The CCP’s propaganda even produced a documentary for him,
entitled “Hu Yang – Chinese Ambassador Embracing the World.”
