【新唐人2014年10月15日訊】香港壹傳媒旗下的《蘋果日報》，因為大篇幅的報導香港佔中運動，自10號起，蘋果大樓連續兩晚遭人包圍，阻礙送報作業。有媒體人表示，這樣的情況在香港從來沒有過，發動阻撓的背景恐怕不單純。而遭到打壓的還不只《蘋果》一家媒體。
《蘋果日報》不斷更新佔中報導，提供給民眾最新消息，使得《蘋果》成為中共的眼中釘。
自10號開始，《蘋果日報》接連遭到騷擾，派報點報紙被潑餿水、貨櫃車被阻撓出報，12號當天，更有一百多人以帳篷陣，封鎖該報大樓所有出入口，阻止報紙發行。《蘋果》網站也連遭駭客攻擊。
14號凌晨，又有約兩百多人前往壹傳媒大樓，搭起帳篷堵塞出入口。
集團平面媒體總裁葉一堅表示，集團主席黎智英與《蘋果》多名高層人員及記者，都收到大量匿名電話滋擾，黎智英被迫更換電話號碼。
《蘋果》向香港高等法院緊急申請，要求高院頒發禁制令，禁止任何人士阻礙壹傳媒大樓出入通道。
香港《開放》雜誌總編輯金鐘：「佔中整個運動的發起和現在的持續發展，都跟《蘋果日報》有很大的關係，因為香港很多傳媒已經被中共所控制，至少是影響吧，所以《蘋果日報》在佔中的問題上，從開始到現在，它都是非常支持非常投入，而且它是香港的大報，數一數二的大報之一，所以它的影響力就特別的大，所以《蘋果日報》的生存，那就成為共產黨的眼中釘。」
香港《蘋果》遭包圍的消息傳出，香港記者協會、香港攝影記者協會、港臺節目製作人員工會、明報職工協會及壹傳媒工會發表聯合聲明，強烈批評這種阻礙媒體運作行為，嚴重踐踏了新聞自由及影響公眾知情權。
原河北人民廣播電臺編輯朱欣欣：「它(中共)無法通過合法合理的渠道壓制香港媒體不同的聲音，它就利用流氓打手這種下三濫的手段，對香港媒體進行圍攻進行破壞，這更說明香港人保衛自己民主權利的必要性，如果香港人不守衛住，那我們整個中國大陸民主的情景就不樂觀。」
《蘋果》執行總編輯陳沛敏表示，這場仗，是守護新聞自由、守護香港的戰爭。他們絕不投降。讀者的支持、香港人的支持，就是支撐《蘋果》繼續戰鬥的力量。
另外，因為踢爆中共官媒做假污衊香港壹傳媒老闆黎智英，中國網路媒體《鈦媒體》遭到停刊。該媒體的金融作者賀江兵發表的相關文章很快就被刪掉，賀江兵的微信戶口亦被吊銷。而《鈦媒體》網站一個星期沒有更新信息。
而據路透社10月13號報導說，一名幫助德國《時代週刊》報導香港抗議的中國女子，也被中共以所謂「擾亂社會秩序」罪名逮捕。
香港《開放》雜誌總編輯金鐘：「所有的媒體，只要不聽黨的話，你要多說兩句多寫兩句都不行，只要跟中共政策相違背的，尤其是重大問題敏感問題上，它隨時可以制裁你，關掉你的刊物或者撤換刊物的負責人，這樣的例子多得很。」
香港政府面對佔中行動的和平抗議者，警方武力使用催淚彈、塑膠子彈，打壓手無寸鐵的抗議者，民眾群起憤慨，也引起國際媒體關注。
香港《開放》雜誌總編輯金鐘：「所以這次對《蘋果日報》打壓，也會是這樣的效果，絕對不可能阻止《蘋果日報》再繼續出版，還會有更多的人出來同情和支持他們。」
10月13號，壹傳媒工會聲明強調：「任何出於恐懼新聞自由的打壓，只會讓我們更加堅信我們做對了。」

Apple Daily Is Besieged for Reporting Occupy Central
As Hong Kong Next Media’s subsidiary, Apple Daily
has covered a lot of news of the Occupy Central Protests.
Apple Daily’s building was besieged for two consecutive
nights since Oct. 10, resulting in the obstruct its newspaper
delivery operation.
Some media said that such a situation has never taken place
in Hong Kong.
The reasons behind the scenes might not be so simple.
The victim in the media circles might not
only be Apple Daily.
Apple Daily constantly updated its coverage on Occupy
Central and provided the public with the latest news.
It has become an eyesore of the CCP.
Beginning on Oct. 10, Apple Daily has had a series
of harassments.
Even the newspapers at the distribution station
were splashed with sewage, and the newspaper
delivery trucks were blocked.
On Oct. 12, over one hundred people blocked
the building’s entrances and exits with an array
of tents to destruct the delivery of newspaper.
Besides, Apple Daily’s website was also attacked
by hackers.
On the morning of Oct. 14, about two hundred people
went to Next Media’s building and erected tents to block
the entrance and exit.
Ip Yut Kin, chief executive officer of Apple Daily
said the group’s chairman Jimmy Lai, some executives
and reporters have received a lot
of anonymous harassing calls.
As a result, Lai was forced to change his phone number.
Apple Daily filed an urgent petition with the High Court
of Hong Kong, requesting the High Court to issue
an injunction to prohibit anyone from blocking
the exit of Next Media building.
Hong Kong Open Magazine’s editor in chief Jin Zhong:
“The entire process of the Occupy Central Movement,
from its initiation to the current development,
has something to do with Apple Daily.
As many Hong Kong media have been controlled or at least
influenced by the Communist regime, Apple Daily has been
very supportive and involved in much of this event
since the beginning until now.
Besides, as one of the largest newspapers in Hong Kong,
its influence is particularly significant.
Therefore, the existence of Apple Daily has become
a thorn in the regime’s eyes."
After the news about the siege of Apple Daily
was made public, Hong Kong Correspondents Association,
Hong Kong Press Photographers Association,
RTHK Program Staff Union, Ming Pao Daily News Staff
Associations and Next Media Trade Union issued a joint
statement to strongly condemn the behavior of blocking
media operations, seriously trampling press freedom
and affecting the public’s right to know.
Former Hebei People’s Radio Editor Zhu Xinxin:
“It (CCP) cannot subdue Kong media’s different voice through
legitimate and reasonable channels, it thus resorted to thugs’
dirty tricks to besiege and obstruct Hong Kong media.
It further attests the need for Hong Kong people
to defend their democratic rights.
If Hong Kong people cannot withstand it, then the hope
for democracy in mainland China would not be optimistic."
Apple Daily’s executive editor Pui-man Chan said
that this battle is to safeguard freedom of the press
as well as Hong Kong.
They will never surrender.
The support from its readers and other Hong Kong people
is the strength that has supported Apple Daily
to go ahead of the fight.
Also, the Chinese Internet media TMT has been suspended
for exposing CCP official media’s fabrication of slander
to defame Next Media chairman Jimmy Lai.
The relevant articles written by its financial author
He Jiangbing were deleted shortly after that.
He Jiangbing’s WeChat accounts were also revoked.
The TMT website was suspended for one week.
Reuters reported that a Chinese woman who was working
as a news assistant for German weekly Die Zeit and had
helped the publication report on protests in Hong Kong
had been detained and accused of inciting public discontent.
Jin Zhong: “Regardless of any media, as long as they do not
follow the CCP’s instruction, even simply adding a couple
more sentences, or being against CCP’s policies, in particular
for major sensitive issues, the regime would impose sanctions
on them casually.
It will close the publication or replace the person
in charge of the publication.
There have been many such examples."
Faced with the Occupy Central movement’s peaceful
protesters, Hong Kong police used tear gas and plastic bullets
to suppress unarmed protesters.
Not only did the incident outrage the public,
but it also attracted international media attention.
Jin Zhong: “The suppression against Apple Daily this time
would absolutely have the same effect.
It will never stop Apple Daily from publishing a newspaper,
and there will be more people stepping forward to sympathize
with them and support them."
On Oct. 13, Next Media Trade Union issued a statement
which stressed: “Any suppression of us out of fear
of press freedom can only make us believe
that we have done the right thing."
