【新唐人2014年06月02日訊】在美國國會山，眾院議長博納、和少數黨領袖佩洛西，以及國會議員們，5月29號上午與多位中國民主活動人士，一起召開有關紀念「六四天安門大屠殺」25週年的新聞發佈會。前一天，美國國會眾議院以379票對1票通過了《停止審查天安門廣場屠殺的資訊》決議案，敦促中共公布「六四事件」真相，停止新聞審查和尊重公民人權。
美國國會紀念「六四」，呼籲中共停止審查天安門廣場屠殺信息的決議案，要求中共當局尊重公民集會自由、言論自由、宗教自由和其他所有的基本人權，尊重法治，並停止審查有關1989年天安門暴力鎮壓的信息等。決議案還要求美國政府在與中國的雙邊關係中，把人權、民主和互聯網自由擺在一個更高的位置上。
參加發佈會的「魏京生基金會」執行主任黃慈萍表示，美國少數黨民主黨的領袖——佩洛西，和共和黨的領袖兼議長博納，都參加了29號的「紀念六四25週年」新聞發佈會並且發言。這是很感人的情況。因為大家都知道，兩黨經常打架。但是在這件事上，他們非常有共識。
美國眾院民主黨領袖裴洛西表示，王維林只身阻擋坦克，是全球民主史上最具標竿性的人物之一。可是，如果去中國問一個年輕人有關這張照片的背後故事，他們卻一無所知。
美國眾議院民主黨領袖裴洛西：「25年前，我們都知道，民眾在天安門廣場聚集，要求屬於他們的權利，要求獲得尊嚴和尊重，要求發出聲音。他們希望結束腐敗，開始真正的政治經濟改革。他們和平請願，而坦克則開向了天安門廣場。」
美國眾議院議長博納（john boehner：「他們（中共）想把過去都忘掉？但你不可能通過忽略來擺脫歷史。因此我們今天站在這裏，我們永遠不會忘記，真相終究會戰勝謊言。」
這項紀念「六四」決議案的發起人——國會眾議員克里斯•史密斯表示，只要中國人民還沒辦法公開、不受騷擾、不被逮捕的談論「六四」的重要性，美國人就永遠不會忘記「天安門」。
國會眾議員克里斯•史密斯：「儘管在經濟和軍事上獲得進步，但是政府鎮壓天安門的醜陋精神在今天繼續，絲毫沒有減少。並且常常是在幕後，諸如遍佈全國的勞改營。中共政府依然是世界上踐踏人權最嚴重的國家之一，酷刑折磨信仰人士，對基督徒，維吾爾人，西藏僧人以及法輪功修煉者，而酷刑實施者卻沒有受到任何懲罰。」
美國「公民力量」組織發起人楊建利也參加了新聞發佈會。他覺得每一年美國國會都會在「六四」來臨之際通過一些決議案，簽署一些公開信，舉行記者會，以及聽證會。這些都非常有意義。
美國公民力量發起人楊建利：「因為它向中國和世界發出一個信號，就是我們沒有忘記，二十五年前在中國發生的六四慘案，我們沒有忘記天安門的英雄們所提出的要求。因為他們所提出的要求，在中國還沒有實現。中國政府繼續打壓和六四的英雄們有同樣要求的人，要求中國自由民主，要求政府透明乾淨反腐敗，這些仍然在中國受到一些迫害。」
決議案還呼籲美國國際廣播局董事會採取適當的措施，避開中共的互聯網審查，向中國民眾提供有關天安門廣場屠殺的信息。
楊建利：「美國廣播局等於是《美國之音》和《自由亞洲電臺》的上屬機構。他們同時有一些資源進行互聯網方面的一些工作。我們知道中國有防火牆。防火牆堵住很多信息。像美國廣播委員會它有資源，可以做一些項目。比如像開發一些軟件，幫助中國的網絡使用者，繞開互聯網，獲得他們想獲得的一些信息。」
美國國會還將在6月4號當天，以眾議院議長約翰.博納的名義，在國會山升起一面美國國旗，以紀念「六四」遇難者和異議人士為中國民主作出的犧牲。

The U.S. Congress Commemorated June 4th Urging China to Stop Information Censoring
On Capitol Hill, House Speaker John Boehner,
House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi and
Congress Representatives, along with quite a few Chinese activists,
attended the 25th year anniversary
of “June 4 Tiananmen Square Massacre”
news releasing conference on May 29.
A day earlier,
a resolution, “stop censoring information
about the June 1989 Tiananmen Square massacre”
passed in the House by a strongly bipartisan 379-1 vote.
The resolution urges the party to publicize
the truth of June 4 and stop information censoring
and respect human rights.
The U.S. Congress commemorated the Tiananmen Square Massacre
of 1989 and passed the resolution of urging the Government
of the People’s Republic of China to stop censoring discussion
of the 1989 Tiananmen Square demonstrations
and their violent suppression.
The resolution urges the government to respect
freedom of assembly, expression, religion and
all fundamental human rights for all of its citizens.
It also calls on the United States to make human rights,
including religious freedom, a priority in bilateral discussions with China.
Huang Ciping, Executive Director of “Wei Jingsheng Funding”
said that it’s touching that both House Speaker John Boehner
and House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi attended and
spoke at the event commemorating
the Tiananmen Square Massacre of 1989.
It’s good to see two parties achieve
consent on the Tiananmen Square event
despite of their usual political differencies.
REP. Nancy. Pelosi talked about all the courage it took
for Wang Weilin to stand before a rolling column of tanks.
The sad thing about it is that in China today,
most young people haven’t the faintest idea of what happened.
House Democratic Leader, REP. Nancy. Pelosi:
”25 years ago, as we all know, people rose up in Tiananmen Square
to demand their right, to demand dignity and respect, to demand a voice.
They wanted to end corruption and begin
a real economic and political reform.
They were demonstrating peacefully,
while tanks came rolling down the street toward the square. “
House Speaker REP. John Boehner:
“Some China used leaders were nervous about how the world
would react to Tiananmen Square once. ‘They’ll soon forget’
They were banking on that, and they still are.
Today, the most popular Chinese search engine blocks
at least 19 derivations of 6/4.
But you can’t overcome the past by ignoring them,
so we stand here today. We’ll never forget.
The truth will always overcome the lies. ”
Rep. Chris Smith, the originator of this commemorating event
stated that as long as Chinese people can’t openly discuss
the importance of “June 4th”
without being harassed and arrested in China,
Americans won’t forget “Tiananmen Square Massacre”.
Representative Chris Smith (R-NJ):
”Despite its once economic and military gains,
the ugly spirit of government repression like Tiananmen
continues today, unabated, often behind closed doors,
in a lao gai (labor camp), throughout China.
Chinese government remains the most grievous offender
of human rights in the world.
Religious believers, Christians, Uygurs, Tibetans, Buddhists
and Falungong practitioners are persecuted with absolute impunity. “
Yang Jianli, the founder of “Citizen Power" also attended the conference.
Mr. Yang said that it’s very meaningful for the U.S. Congress to pass resolutions,
sign public letters or hold hearings and news release conferences to commemorate June 4.
Yang Jianli:"The U.S. Congress is releasing a signal to China
and the world that June 4 has never been forgotten.
The Tiananmen Square Massacre of 25 years ago
has never been forgotten.
We have never forgotten the pursuits of the heroes at Tiananmen Square.
Their aims haven’t yet been realized in China.
In addition, Chinese government continues suppressing those
who hold similar pursuits as the heroes of June 4th.
Those who call for freedom, democracy, anti-corruption
are still being persecuted in China.”
The resolution calls on the Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG)
to take appropriate steps to circumvent Chinese internet censorship
and to provide information to the people of China
about the Tiananmen Square Massacre.

oversees ‘Voice of America(VOA)’ and ‘Radio Free China(RFC)’
They can share resources with each other.
We know the firewall in China can block a lot of information.
However, IBB can utilize its resources to develop some software
to help China’s internet users to obtain the information they need."
In the name of House Speaker John Boehner,
the U.S. Congress is going to raise a national flag
on Capitol Hill to commemorate those who lost their lives on June 4
and those who sacrifice for China’s democracy.
