【新唐人2012年10月31日訊】華裔雕塑家陳維明，單槍匹馬前往敘利亞聲援那裏的民主運動，然而並不順利，前一陣中共派特務，冒充聲援敘利亞民主的中國人，與敘利亞反對黨接觸，然而這些所謂的「中國人」與反對黨組織接觸後，反對黨遭到了敘利亞政府的突然襲擊，損失慘重。從此本來就仇視中共的中東民眾，視每一個黃皮膚、黑眼睛的中國人為特務，陳維明也受到這種待遇，幸好陳維明手中持有本臺《中國禁聞》有關他的報導，當地民眾才漸漸解除了對他的戒備，反過來歡迎他。
陳維明10月15號離開紐約後，首先落腳土耳其大城伊斯坦布爾。由於語言的原因前幾天有點不知所措，不過很快得到了兩位其他國家記者的幫助，找到了自由軍駐土耳其的辦事處，不過陳維明發現那裏的人們並不信任他。
陳維明說，前一段時期，敘利亞去了一批中國人，聲稱他們去支持那裏的反對派，反對派帶這些中國人參觀了他們比較隱蔽的基地，這批中國人走了之後，基地遭到了轟炸，造成大量人員死亡。這起事件導致了敘利亞的人民更加仇視中國人，他們認為，到敘利亞的中國人都有間諜傾向。
現在中東地區的民眾看到黑頭髮、黃皮膚的人都會盤問，是不是中國人？
為陳維明策劃「民主女神基金會」的中國問題研究人士張健分析，這批人應該是中共當局派去的。
「民主女神基金會」CEO張健：「據我們知道，在中國是肯定不太會有民間人士去敘利亞的，如果說在海外能去敘利亞的呢，從海外的各方面管道也應該能得到確定，這批人能到了敘利亞的，肯定是中國政府或一些部門的相關人員去幫助嘛，去幫助阿薩德的政府，否則不會出現這種情況，導致了反對派乃至貧民兒童大量的傷亡。」
陳維明前往敘利亞前，接受了《新唐人》的獨家專訪，隨後《中國禁聞》欄目以一則《華裔藝術家往敘利亞聲援民主運動》，報導了陳維明出發前的心路歷程。
陳維明因此讓張健轉告對《新唐人》的感謝，他說，自從給當地人看了《中國禁聞》帶有英文翻譯的專題採訪視頻後，自由軍駐土耳其的辦事處了解了他此行的目地，因此非常重視。
張健：「最主要，他這次為甚麼特別感謝《新唐人》呢？因為他所有的報導大部分都是中文報導，包括之前《美國之音》拍個專題片，但是並不利於阿拉伯世界的人去了解他，因為有的人會懂一點英文，中文是完全不通，那麼正是通過我們《新唐人電視》，就是我們那個《禁聞》英文的報導，把這個做的非常好，才讓目前一些流亡在土耳其的反對派去認識他。」
陳維明說，因為他是第一個站出來支持自由之戰的中國人。現在土耳其民眾非常歡迎他，自由軍駐土耳其的辦事處將為他配備英語翻譯，安排他進入敘利亞。為了稱呼方便及通訊聯絡上的保密需要，他們給他取了一個阿拉伯名字—默汗默德。
陳維明透漏，朝鮮政府也派人在支持敘利亞政府。他說有一架飛機被打下來後，發現飛行員是受僱於阿薩德政府的朝鮮人。
據陳維明反映，敘利亞的百姓並不像中共宣傳的那樣，為了甚麼聖戰而打仗，他們每個人都認為生命是無價的，都不想打仗，而他們談論更多的是民主、自由、和平，而不是宗教。
陳維明本來打算24號進入敘利亞，但土耳其民眾擔心陳維明會因敘利亞民眾的誤會而遭到不測。上週陳維明拜會了伊斯坦布爾的敘利亞反對派辦公室，參加了聲援反對派的集會和土耳其主辦的「反戰」自由和平畫展，與來自戰區的醫生、藝術家進行了交流。

NTDTV Program Helps Middle East to See the True Situation
Chinese sculptor Chen Weiming went to Syria independently
to support the democratic movements, but faced difficulties.
In the past, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) sent spies
over to contact Syrian opposition parties,
posing as Chinese who were supporting Syrian
democratic movements.
After the so-called “pro-democracy Chinese"
had met with the opposition party organizations,
the Syrian government moved in with a surprise attack
on the organizations, causing the suffering of heavy losses.
Some Middle Eastern people who are inherently hostile
towards the CCP seem to take each Asian as a spy—
Chen Weiming was also taken as a spy initially.
Fortunately, New Tang Dynasty Television (NTDTV) had
interviewed Chen earlier,
and locals gradually lifted the alert to welcome him,
only after watching the TV reports.
Chen Weiming—the well-known sculptor and newspaper
publisher, and a permanent U.S. resident—left New York
on October 15, to arrive first in Istanbul, Turkey.
Feeling a little overwhelmed over the language barriers
over the first few days,
he asked for help from two reporters and finally found
the freedom army’s office,
but Chen Weiming found that people did not trust him.
Chen Weiming said some time ago that, some Chinese had
gone to Syria, claiming to support their opposition parties,
and they were led to visit some hidden bases.
After the Chinese had left, the bases were bombed,
resulting in many deaths.
This incident has made the Syrian people more hostile
towards Chinese; they think , all Chinese in Syria are spies.
Now when Middle Eastern people see people with black hair
and yellow skin, they ask if they are Chinese.
Zhang Jian, a Chinese issue researcher planning the Goddess
of Democracy Foundation—with one of the defining images
of the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests—for Chen Weiming
says, those people should be sent by the CCP.

“As far as we know, nobody from China goes to Syria.
If they were from overseas, they could be verified through
various channels.
So they should be helped by the CCP or related people to
support al-Assad’s government.
Otherwise it will lead to a large number of casualties in
the opposition—poor people and even children.”
Chen Weiming had accepted an exclusive interview with NTD
before going to Syria, which was reported as the story:
“Chinese Artist in Syria Supporting Democratic Movement”.
Chen Weiming asked Zhang Jian to convey his appreciation
to NTDTV.
Chen said that, since the local people had watched NTDTV’s
China Forbidden News with English subtitles,
the free military offices in Turkey understood his purpose
and had taken the issue very seriously.

“Why did Chen thank NTDTV?
Because most reports before were in Chinese—including
a feature film of Voice Of America (VOA)—which were not good for the Arab people;
some may understand a little English, but no Chinese.
With NTDTV and its English reports of China Forbidden News
the exile opposite parties could recognize it.”
Chen Weiming says, because he was the first Chinese to
stand up and support the battle for freedom, Turkish people welcomed him.
Their office will provide Chen with an English interpreter
and let him enter Syria.
For convenience and confidential purposes,
they named him 『Mohammed』.
Chen Weiming disclosed that the Korean government had
also sent people to support the Syrian government.
Chen says, in one plane which had been shot down, the pilot
was employed by the Assad government from North Korea.
According to Chen, the Syrian people are not fighting
a “sacred war” as the CCP propagates.
Instead, each Syrian treats life as being priceless
and does not want to fight;
what they talk about the most is democracy,
freedom and peace, rather than religion.
Chen Weiming had intended to get into Syria on October 24,
but the Turkish people worried that he may be killed
due to the Syrian people misunderstanding him.
Last week, Chen Weiming visited the office of the Syrian
opposition parties and participated in a freedom and peace art exhibition gathering,
sponsored by the Turkish people, to communicate with
doctors and artists from war areas.
