20-year-old Anggraini was crowned “Miss Jakarta Fair 2010” on Saturday, at the Jakarta International Expo. The sales promotion girl for a tire company will now bring home a cash prize, tours overseas, a motorcycle, and the one-year contract for “Young Indonesian Model.”

The Miss Jakarta Fair 2010 competition is similar to other beauty pageants, evaluating the brain, beauty and behavior of each participant. However, the judging criteria are also adjusted to incorporate other aspects of a sales promotion girls’ daily activities, including marketing and promotion. A strict selection process ensures the winner is really able to promote Indonesian products at the national and international levels.

The beauty competition between sales promotion girls was initiated by the Jakarta Fair organizers for the first time in 2006. The Fair is an annual multi-products exhibition, the biggest exhibition event in Southeast Asia. It is held for a month each year, and always attracts thousands of companies, each with many sales promotion girls, known as SPG’s.
促銷小姐美女選拔賽由雅加達博覽主辦單位創始,第一屆於2006年舉辦。這是一年一度多種產品的展覽會,是東南亞地區最大的展會。每年為期一個月的展期,總是吸引數以千計的公司,每家都伴有許多促銷小姐。

“This competition can raise the spirit of SPG’s so they can better promote Indonesian products. After their promotion, citizens will buy it, after they buy it they will use it, after they used it they will automatically promote it to their friends. In this way Indonesian local products can become popular, which is very good."
