The Chinese Communist Party’s Media Goes to Market
The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) planned to sell shares
on its People.com.cn web portal on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
CCP officials will audit the Renmin Wang website on Jan.13.
XinhuaNet plan to sell their shares in Shanghai Stock
Exchange by the year’s end.
For “Red networks” to enter the stock market, experts said
is the CCP’s control deformity and a contradiction.
The CCP-backed media takes the government’s funds
with one hand,
increasing its capital funds from the stock market with
the other hand, deceiving people.
Under the umbrella of the CCP’s mouthpiece media
the People’s Daily,
People.com.cn web will sell shares of 527 million yuan (US$90m)
on China’s stock market.
Controlled by Xinhua News Agency, Xinhua Wang website
plans to sell shares of 1 billion yuan (US$158m) on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
Marketing operations require transparent information.
After these two CCP media sell shares, what kind of problems
will occur at market-oriented level, in business model operation, and in company management?
People.com.cn website stated that in 2010, their search engines
revenue was nil, but the net profit was up to 30 million yuan (US$4.75m).
Economist Caoan Jushi said that no company in the world
can say “I don’t have a turnover but have profits.”
Without turnover, where do profits come from?
Caoan Jushi says: “Of course the CCP regime grants it.
Now People.com.cn is to sell shares, they make so-called
enterprise, but this is one way they collect money.
I noticed many companies are “illegally collecting money”
in China, People.com.cn wants to get the same profit.
One hand wants to take government funds,
the other hand wants to collect money from the public.
This reflects an essential problem, which is that China’s
economic and political systems are quite abnormal.
The CCP doesn’t follow marketing rules.”
Caoan Junshi pointed out two issues: firstly it is not fair,
secondly it is controlled by the government.
They are focusing on collecting money, but not on
marketing operation.
Caoan Jushi says: “In fact, nobody wants to read the
People’s Daily, Normal people will not read it.
In mainland China, people are ashamed to read the People’s Daily.
However, the CCP regime always promotes the People’s Daily,
they even sell shares, their purpose is to “collect money illegally”.
In addition, after getting shares on the market,
the officials in charge will have more interest.”
Xie Tian, a professor at the Aiken School of Business
at the University of South Carolina said that
In other countries, organizations and
parties are non-profit-oriented,
but the CCP wants to sell their media’s shares, collecting money.
From a political point of view, this is the CCP’s new trick.
Xie Tian says: “With the capitalist mode of raising funds,
the key point is
that you need to give up ownership and change it into shares.
Then change to private funding to support your business.
However, the CCP doesn’t want o give up the control of their
propagandist media and ownership, but want the private
funds and overseas capital assets to support their operation.
This is an insidious and sinister trick.”
Xie Tian said that the CCP spends state treasury funds
in maintaining so-called “stability”.
Now all state media rush to be listed on the stock market,
it shows that the CCP is on death row.
Xie Tian hopes China’s civilians can understand
this fact clearly.
