原「北京大學」教授夏業良被「北大」解聘事件，持續受到外界關注。
2月2號，《自由亞洲電臺》報導，北京「鋒銳律師事務所」發出公告說，原「北大」教授夏業良起訴「北京大學」違反勞動法，侵犯夏業合法權益案，已經在北京某法院正式立案，案件由北京「鋒銳律師事務所」代理。
夏業良是大陸經濟學者，日前已經抵達美國，準備在美國繼續他的學術生涯。
美：中共避政治改革 不保障基本人權
美國國會和行政當局中國委員會，1月31號發表年度報告說，中國（中共）在保障中國公民的表達、集會、宗教自由和制約中共的權力、建立法治等方面缺乏進展，中共繼續在推進經濟現代化的同時，避免進行政治改革與保障基本人權。
報告說，中共當局為了壓制言論、集會和結社自由，到2013年9月已經拘留、逮捕或「使失蹤」近60人，包括知名人權倡導者許志永和郭飛雄。倡導改革的評論文章和互聯網上的討論也遭到刪剪。
報告還說，在過去一年中，中共的興趣依然在於保持對中國社會的控制和絕對權威，而不是在透明度、人權、法治和放鬆國家對經濟的管制等方面，取得實質性和持久性進展。
打壓使微博帖子驟減70%
最近，英國《電訊報》的一項調查顯示，中共開始對微博上影響力比較大的博主進行打壓之後，微博上的帖子數量減少了70%。
調查發現，一輪兇猛的打壓之後，作為龐大信息來源的微博，已經蕭條下來，現在基本只剩下名人對某人的支持、或政府的宣傳，以及企業的廣告。
山東異見者薛明凱母親再被帶走
山東異議人士薛明凱的母親王淑清，2月1號被大陸網友從曲阜一間賓館營救出來後， 2月2號再度被北京和山東兩地的國保聯手強行帶走。
薛明凱的父親薛福順，於中國新年前夕，在曲阜市檢察院離奇死亡後，他的母親王淑清被當局限制人身自由達10天，2月1號，一些從大陸各地趕往山東的聲援者把她營救出來，連夜送往北京維權人士周莉家中。但是，不到一天，北京和山東兩地大約15名國保警察闖入周莉家中，再次把王淑清強行帶走。
目前，王淑清的下落，外界還無從得知。

Xia Yeliang’s Prosecution Put On Record
The event dismissing former Peking University professor
Xia Yeliang continues to attract considerable attention.
On February 2, Radio Free Asia reported that Beijing Fengrui
Law Firm noted the formally registered case of former Peking
professor Xia Yeliang’s prosecution of “Peking" University
against labor law, infringing his lawful right and interests.
Mainland Chinese economist Xia Yeliang recently arrived in
the US to continue his academic life.
America: The Chinese Communist Party Avoids Political
Reform With No Guarantee On Basic Human Rights
On January 31, the Congressional-Executive Commission on
China issued an annual report.
It said: “The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) lacked the
process on protecting Chinese citizens in the expressing,
gathering, free religion, restricting the CCP power and the
law establishment.
In the process of continually promoting economic
modernization, the CCP avoids political reform and
protecting basic human rights.”
The report said that the CCP has detained, arrested or “made
disappear" nearly 60 people including well-known human
rights activists Xu Zhiyong and Guo Feixiong by September .
Review articles to advocate reform and discussion on the
Internet have also been censored.
The report also said that in the past year, the CCP is still
interested in maintaining control and absolute authority
rather than the process of transparency, human rights, rule
of law and relaxing state economic control.
Suppression Made Weibo Posts Drop Off By 70%
Recently, a survey of British “Telegraph" Newpaper showed
that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started to suppress
large influence bloggers on microblog reducing posts by 70%.
The survey found that microblog as a huge information source
has been depressed down after some ferocious crackdown.
Now there is only support to someone like a famous person,
or CCP propaganda and corporate advertising on the microblog.
Shandong Dissident Xue Mingkai’s Mother Taken Away Again
Shandong dissident Xue Mingkai’s mother Wang Shuqing was
rescued by mainland netizens at a hotel in Qufu on February 1.
On February 2, Wang Shuqing was forcibly taken away again
by Beijing and Shandong state security.
Xue Mingkai’s father Xue Fushun died suspiciously at Qufu
City Procuratorate on Chinese New Year’s Eve.
His mother Wang Shuqing had restricted freedom by the
CCP for about 10 days before being rescued by mainland
netizens, and taken to Beijing activist Zhou Li’s home on
February 1.
However, after less than a day, about 15 state security police
from Beijing and Shandong broke into Zhou Li’s home and
forcibly took away Wang Shuqing again.
Currently, nobody knows where Wang Shuqing is.
