U.S. media: China’s Political Situation Worsened

Before the 18th National Congress, the Chinese Communist

Party (CCP) grew far more chaotic.

The major US media outlets all reported the presumptive

sudden disappearance of Xi Jinping, China’s new leader.

Over the past week, Xi Jinping has missed at least three

scheduled meetings with foreign dignitaries.

Furthermore, on Sept.10, The Foreign Ministry claimed

the meeting between Xi and Danish prime minister was never scheduled to take place at all.

However, last week, the Foreign Office invited foreign

journalists to attend a news conference on the 10th, giving an opportunity for interviews.

On Sept. 11, Radio France Internationale (RFI) published

an article in the US column.

The report stressed in the title that US media believes China

became far more chaotic before the 18th National Congress.

The report said that one Chinese media outlet in the US

published a report, which was later deleted, stating that

Xi was hurt in an auto accident when a military official

tried to injure or kill him in a revenge plot.

A well-connected political analyst in Beijing said in an

interview that 59-year-old Xi might have had a mild heart attack.

RFI cited the New York Times, who said that whatever

the actual reason, Xi’s unexplained absences are conspicuous

on the eve of what is supposed to be China’s

once-in-a-decade transfer of power.

The Associated Press reported that Russian President

Vladimir Putin said over the APEC summit that

the meeting had been delayed because Hu Jintao needed

to attend to an important but unspecified domestic issue.

The Wall Street Journal said that Hu Jintao is due

to hand over his most powerful post to Xi.

The mystery adds to an already tense atmosphere ahead

of leadership transition expected to kick into gear in a few weeks.

Wang Lijun’s Trial Underway? Gu Kailai Sent to Qincheng Prison

The CCP’s chaos ahead of the 18th National Congress

began in February, with Chongqing police chief Wang Lijun

having fled to the US consulate in Chengdu followed

by Chongqing party secretary Bo Xilai’s downfall.

Wang Lijun』s run to the US consulate also exposed the murder

and other crimes committed by Bo’s wife, Gu Kailai.

On Sept. 11, many police suddenly showed up

in Chengdu court.

The public said that Wang Lijun’s trial could possibly be

taking place secretly.

Another plausible theory was that top leaders visited court

in preparation for Wang’s trial.

According to the Associated Press, Gu Kailai, who

received a suspended death sentence last month, is likely to end up in Qincheng Prison.

The report said that the prison has cells with sofas

and private bathrooms.

Ex prisoners who had been jailed in Qincheng recalled that

some cells were quite sizeable,

with some prisoners having break time, reading books,

and watching TV, however, security is tight.

Chinese Warships Deployed to Diaoyu Islands (Senkaku Islands)?

The CCP’s chaos also manifests in Diaoyu Islands

(Senkaku Islands) Tension.

On Sept. 10, Hubei TV cited Central TV who said China

warships 46 and 49 were on their way to Diaoyu Islands.

It said that at 10:41am on Sept. 10, warship 49

was 220 nautical miles from Diaoyu Islands.

It was expected arrive Diaoyu Islands on the early morning

of the 11th.

However, the Phoenix Oriental Media said in a microblog that

it was nearly midnight and there still was no news about warships.

However, netizens noticed that it was said warship speed was

18 nautical miles per hour, thus the ship should have arrived at the Diaoyu Islands at 11pm.

At 11pm on 11th, they still hadn’t shown up

at the Diaoyu Islands. There are unanswered questions.

Did they navigate too fast and pass the Islands?

Did they get lost? Is oil too expensive?

Are there traffic jams? Are they stranded?

Did they never go?
