中共「十八大」召開前夕，黨內分歧和各種社會矛盾，日益尖銳， 「天要變」的呼聲在網路上空前高漲，使中共的「合法性」面臨建政以來最為猛烈的挑戰，而中共高層也為身份認同問題焦慮不已。
香港《亞洲週刊》發表文章評論說，改革開放三十多年，中國不得不面對的是貧富兩極化、貪腐久治不癒、黑社會猖獗等問題，社會更關心的是所謂「為人民服務」的「共產黨價值」在多大程度上值得肯定？中共建黨九十一週年，共產黨是誰？代表誰？為了誰？中共的身份認同問題不得不讓人重新提出思考：作為掌握大陸政權六十三年的唯一執政黨，中共還能將紅旗打多久？！中共身份認同的焦慮恐怕將成為十八大揮之不去的陰影。
貴州二千人怒砸鎮政府
7月21號，貴州省遵義市仁懷市發生大規模群體抗議事件，仁懷市壇廠鎮政府的許多幹部由於貪財遭當地村民圍攻。據報導，仁懷市壇廠鎮政府徵用村民土地後，以各種理由剋扣土地款，致使村民憤怒，從而釀發事件。
當天上午，當地民眾約二千人手舉寫著「打倒貪官污吏，維護公民權益」的橫幅，並高喊口號：「打倒腐敗！」遊行到鎮政府，政府官員已全部逃離，村民將鎮政府辦公樓的一、二樓砸遍，並在牆上寫下了：「打倒黑政府！」然後將橫幅掛在鎮政府大門前，並掀翻七八輛警車。
據當地民眾介紹，政府派來各警種共一千多人，少數防暴警察與民眾形成過短暫對峙局面。
漁船遭「戰略夥伴」砲轟 中共無光
俄國「捷爾任斯基號」邊防巡邏艦，7月16號在日本海向掛有中國旗的漁船開槍及砲擊，在巡邏艦與漁船發生撞擊後，俄軍登上中方漁船，俄國兵直接向中方船員開火，有1名中國漁民墮海失蹤。
中國民眾質疑，中俄是否還是戰略協作夥伴關係。有評論說，「在公海上敢對漁船開砲，因為是中國的漁船！這記耳光打得響亮，打得中共外交面上無光啊！」
據了解，俄羅斯巡邏艇向中國漁船開火並不是第一次。2009年2月，一艘中國貨船在俄羅斯符拉迪沃斯托克附近海域被俄軍開火擊沉，船上10名中國船員只有3人獲救，另外7人全部喪生。這起事件最後不了了之，中共除了提出「嚴重關注」外，沒有任何行動。
有評論認為，顯然俄羅斯只是中共意想的「戰略夥伴」。中共當局一直以來稱呼俄羅斯為兄弟和夥伴，大凡發生有關主權等海事糾紛時，也都採取一種偏向俄羅斯的政策，以此換來俄羅斯對中共獨裁的支持。

Before the Chinese Communist Party’s 18th Congress,
infighting and social community disputes have intensified.
Calls for, “the Heavens needs to change”
on the internet are increasingly high.
The legitimacy of the CCP is facing a severe challenge,
and high-level officials are also worried if their positions can still be secured.
An article in Hong Kong’s Asia Weekly said that
after 30 years of open policy, China has to face the facts.
There is an extreme gap between poor and rich,
with severe corruption and gangs.
The public are more concerned about how much
the CCP’s slogan of “serve the people" will be achieved.
The CCP has claimed power for 91 years.

The issue of the legitimacy of the CCP
was raised again by public.
One-party rule in China has lasted for 63 years.
How long will the red flag of the CCP exist?
Their legitimacy will become a lingering
shadow over the 18th Congress.
2,000 Angry Villagers Smash Government Offices in Guizhou
On July 21, a mass protest took place in Guizhou Province.
Corrupt cadres in Renhuai City, Tanchang County,
were attacked by local farmers.
Sources said that after local authorities took farmland,
they used various excuses to reduce compensation fees.
This caused villagers to become angry,
and a protest soon followed.
In the afternoon, 2,000 protesters were holding banners:
“Down Corrupt Officials, Protect Civil Rights”.
Protesters shouted out “Down the Corruption!”
They walked to the town government,
and all the officials escaped.
Villagers smashed their offices, writing slogans
on the walls: “Down the Black Government!”
They hung up banners at the gates
and a few police’s cars were turned over.
Local villagers said that the government
sent a force of over 1,000 police.
There was a confrontation
between riot police and villagers.
Chinese Fishing Boat Shot by China “Strategy Partners”
On July 16, the Russian coastguard opened fire and
collided into a Chinese fishing boat in the Sea of Japan.
Russian soldiers then boarded the Chinese boat.
They shot directly at Chinese crew members.
One fisherman fell into the sea, and is still missing.
Chinese people have questioned
whether China and Russia are allies?
They said that Russia bravely shot
at a Chinese fishing boat in a public zone.
This is because it was a Chinese boat!
They heavily caused the CCP to lose face.
The CCP has diplomatically lost face!
Sources said that it wasn’t the first time the Russian
coastguard has shot at Chinese fishing boats.
In February 2009, a Chinese cargo ship near
Vladivostok waters was shot at, and subsequently sank.
Three out of the ten Chinese
crew members survived. Seven died.
The CCP only raised the issue as one
of “seriously concern”, without any official protest.
Commentators said that obviously Russia
is only a “strategic partners” for the CCP.
The Chinese regime always calls
Russia a brother and partner.
The CCP’s policy is soft on dealing
with disputes in Russia water zones.
This is in order to exchange Russian
support for the CCP dictatorship.
