Online Cleaning-Up; A Prelude To New Political Turmoil?
Between March 30-31st, Xinhua News Agency, the media
mouthpiece of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) reported
Beijing police confirmed the arrests of over 1,000 netizens
and removal of more than 200,000 online postings.
Meanwhile, 70 internet service companies including Sina
were penalized.
The review pages of Sina’s and Tencent’s weibo(micro-blog)
were reportedly to shut down for three days.
The regime’s tightening control over the internet sparked a
strong backlash among the Chinese public.
The official action also triggered a fierce internet fighting
between the Left-force and the Right-force.
The public consider this “internet cleaning-up” as a threat by
Zhou Yongkang towards the Chinese people to “shut up”.
Zhou was deemed to fear the exposure of crimes committed
by himself and the system of Political and Law Committee.
Commentator Zhang Sutian says during Hu Jintao’s visit to
Asian countries, the CCP’s blood-debt clan unwillingly waited for the punishment or death.
The action was a fight back by Zhou Yongkang
who allied Li Changchun against Hu-Wen.
Zhang Sutian expects that a political storm may be imminent
when Hu Jintao returns to Beijing.
Over 4,000 employees of Jinan Qingqi Motorcycle Co. Ltd.
in Shangdong province has staged a strike since March 28th.
A large number of police blocked the factory gate,
trying to stop the workers taking to the streets.
Jinan Qingqi reportedly carried out asset swaps with
Hunan Tyen Machinery Co., Ltd.
The majority of over 4,000 employees face unemployment
which triggered their strike protest.
Some workers said, through the process of asset swap,
the one-billion RMB assets formerly belonged to the state
and the people, was pocketed by the CCP’s officials.
