College Exam Champions Not Made Career Contributions
In China each year, who’s the best in college entrance exams
is a hot topic; there’s ongoing controversy over this issue.
As scores for 2012 are released, the different regions’ top
students are once again under media and social attention.
The Yunnan Provincial Department of Education conducted
a special research on the 22 top college students taking their
entrance exams, and on the past 10 years’ Olympic winners
in Yunnan—they had not made any big career contributions.
The department also inspected China’s top 124 college
students in the last 32 years, and found that none of them had become leaders of their career fields.
While education departments in many areas have banned
speculating in college entrance exam scores,
interviews on top college students still appear
in newspapers everywhere.
Many websites also made high-profile announcements of
champion students’ names, while listing their exam stories.
Shandong University’s former professor Sun Wenguang says,
the so-called 『top students』 are only champions in the college entrance exam mechanism;
boasting the top students, only shows the incompetence of
the Chinese educational system.
Sun Wenguang says many local governments and schools
do not hesitate to cheat—masquerading under a false name
or giving answers in the exam room, in order to obtain better
credits in exam results and increase their achievements.
Sun Wenguang: “To get good results by cheating happened
many times in the past,
and because of the local government conniving,
this situation has slowly increased recently.
The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) demands high scorers
and more champions—seen as the regime’s achievement."
Internet writer Jingchu says, the CCP’s brainwashing
education enforced over dozens of years, has resulted in
the fall of the spirit of the entire nation—the CCP does not
cultivate talented people, but just a few minions.
Jingchu: “The CCP’s education system has lied for years;
It’s covered up true minds, and has only said high-sounding
things, displaying a typical double personality nature.
Such a double personality is developed from an early age,
and the nation’s spiritual decline starts from lying.
Lying and double personality culture, has caused the spirit of
the entire nation to fall–leaving despicable souls and an atrophy of creativity."
The Yunnan Provincial Department of Education director
recently did specialized research on the past 10 years’ of
college champions of entrance exams, and 『Olympic』 winners.
The director found that 22 college champions and the grand
prize winners in Yunnan haven’t made any big contributions
in their current careers—far from people’s original ideas.
He also reviewed 124 top college students in entrance exams
in China’s last 32 years (1977 – 2009),
but none of them had become leaders in their vocational fields.
Jingchu: “After the CCP took power, all talented people—
famous writers and thinkers—were trained by China.
What did the CCP’s educational system achieve? Nothing."
Mainland freelance writer and former Hebei People’s Radio
editor, Zhu Xinxin says that
the CCP’s education simply tries to whitewash the
authoritarian regime, and totally eliminate the students’ independent thinking.
Zhu Xinxin: “Chinese education is entirely a tool to maintain
the rule of the dictator, not to develop independent thinking.
So the CCP tried hard to evade some of the reality problems;
Although his university entrance exam has a problem related
to political situations in China,
it accords fully with the caliber of the official propaganda,
otherwise it must be denied.”
Zhu Xinxin says with the CCP’s current educational model
Chinese teachers’ personality suffers a complete denial,
and education has also become a painful past.
Champions of college entrance exams are often refused
by famous universities in the U.S. or Hong Kong.
