On their arrival at the Brisbane airport, the Queen and Prince Philip were greeted by Premier Anna Bligh and Governor Penelope Wensley before being whisked away for a tour down the Brisbane River to South Bank.

At South Bank, they were greeted by thousands of enthusiastic people who came out to catch a glimpse of the Queen.

The Queen was in Brisbane to open a stormwater harvesting plant and to meet with victims and rescue workers of the floods that devastated much of the state earlier this year.

Although the Queen’s visit to Brisbane was very brief, it has left a memorable impression.
