A joint U.S.-South Korean investigation is underway… looking into the reason behind the sinking of a South Korean ship.

The Cheonan sank off the west coast of the peninsula near the disputed Yellow Sea border with North Korea on Friday.
星期五，天安號船在朝鮮半島西岸外海沉沒，事故發生的位置靠近南北韓間具有爭議的黃海海域邊界。
The South Korean Defense Ministry said 58 of the 104 people on board the vessel were rescued before the ship snapped in half and sank.
韓國國防部表示，在船上的104中，有58人在船隻半沉沒前獲救。

“They are absolutely confident that with the team that’s been informed, those experts will be able to figure out, both the Republic of Korea and the U.S., exactly what happened.”

Murky water and strong currents at the site have hampered rescue efforts.
在事故現場，渾濁的水和強勁的水流阻礙了救援工作。
Now efforts are underway to lift the sunken ship from underwater, and a U.S. team has arrived at the site for a joint investigation with South Korean authorities.
現在他們正在努力將沉船從水下打撈起，並且有一支美國隊伍已抵達事故現場，要和南韓當局進行合作調查。
