Delivery of First China Commercial Aircraft Delayed
A Chinese commercial plane manufacturer
has again postponed delivery of its first order.
Ambitions of Beijing challenging the US Boeing and
the European Airbus companies have been setback.
Associated Press reported that the Commercial Aircraft
Corporation of China (Comac) said on September 25
that first jet airliner ARJ21 will be ready in mid-2014.
The Comac Chairman blamed delays in the ARJ21
program on China’s inexperience in designing,
building and certifying commercial jetliners.
Experts said that delays in the ARJ21 could
have knock-on effects for the development
of the bigger and more ambitious C919.
