=====
Persecution of Falun Dafa Intensifies

The number of Chinese practicing Falun Dafa skyrocketed
since July, after learning about Jiang Zemin’s death scandal.
Xinhua.net, the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) state media,

published articles to slander against and frame
Falun Dafa practitioners on September 3.
The ongoing persecution against Falun Dafa was conceived of
by Jiang Zemin’s clique, according to scholars around the world,
to convince other CCP leaders to extend the persecution.

With the absence of Jiang Zemin
at the July 1 CCP anniversary;
the repatriation of Lai Changxing
in the “Yuan Hua Smuggling Case,"
and the fallout from the Wenzhou high-speed rail crash,
Jiang’s faction appears terribly weakened.
However, in the past two months, there have been numerous
reports of Falun Dafa practitioners being tortured to death
in Heilongjiang, Hubei, Tianjin, Beijing, Anhui, Jiangsu,
Yunnan, Liaoning, Xinjiang, Jilin, Hunan and Shandong.
The tortured were subjected to beatings, electric shocks,
hanging, sleep deprivation, and sexual assault.
They were also forced to drink their own urine and injected
with unknown drugs, which destroyed their nervous systems.
Zhang Tianliang, a George Mason University professor, said:
“In fact, lots of media have said that
the CCP Political Bureau members mostly, if not all, opted out
of the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners
and it’s Jiang Zemin alone who insisted on it.

By intensifying the persecution, Jiang’s clique is presumably
sending a signal to people that they are still in power.
In the wake of the Beidaihe conference, Hu Jintao inspected
a number of southern cities including Guangzhou and
Shenzhen, and showed his support for Wang Yang,
the secretary of the CCP in Guangdong Province.
Wang is a member of the Communist Youth League of China
(CYLC) faction (“League faction) within the CCP.
The other key member of the League faction, Li Keqiang,
went to Hong Kong, for a showcase visit,
prior to securing his position as premier.

The recent reshuffles in many provinces in China
are a sign that the CYLC is in major state of flux.
Cheung Wai Kwok, editor of Trend magazine in Hong Kong:
“Since the CCP will reshuffle itself in the coming 18th
People’s Congress, the issue of Falun Dafa,
which is a previous political flashpoint,
is coming up for public discussion.

The Hong Kong-based Trend said more and more CCP heads
view Jiang Zemin as a troublemaker.
Some senior CCP leaders wrote to the Central government
before the 17th Fifth Plenary Conference,
requiring Zhou Yongkang and He Guoqiang to publicly
disclose their role in police abuses in the 90s, and resign.
One Chinese scholar said, “Earlier this year,
when Hu Jintao visited the U.S., he had a private meeting with
Mr. Obama, where Hu verbally promised that

he would no longer persecute Falun Dafa practitioners
during his term of office.
In Hu’s company, was Yang Jiechi, Jiang Zemin’s
former foreign Minister, who later tipped off Jiang Zemin.
Xinhua.net later did a TV exposé on the Tiananmen Square
self-immolation on January 20, 2011.
CCP Political Bureau member, Li Changchun,
and the CCP Political and Judiciary secretary, Zhou Yongkang,
who is in charge of China’s propaganda department,
both are from Jiang’s clique.
The Xinhua.net printed articles slandering against
Falun Dafa practitioners on Sept. 3.
One Chinese scholar said, “There are increasing demands from
China’s intellectuals, calling for a readdress of Falun Dafa,
with some even appearing in blogs.

To respond to Falun Dafa’s growing support and to reinforce
the ongoing persecution,
the CCP falsified its news reports about the meditation group,
attempting to continue the persecution.
The Trend said in August that U.S. Ambassador to China,
Gary Locke, pointed out to China the diplomatic value of
protecting the freedom and democracy of others, urging
Beijing to readdress its 12-year-long policy
on the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners.

One Chinese scholar noted, “Jiang’s clan is very worried,
given the noticeable support for the readdress of Falun Dafa.
To avoid this, and to continue the persecution, Jiang’s clique
will make its voice known in the upcoming 18th Congress.
Boxun News said on Sep 5 that in Beijing,

Jiang’s clique is allying itself with the Crown Prince Party
and is scheming to fight back.
Jiang’s clique seems to be targeting Wang Yang, while
reinstating Bo Xilai with its “Seeking Common Prosperity”
slogan being supported by Xi Jinping and Zhou Yongkang.

To the Crown Prince Party, their top concern centers around
Hu Jintao’s proposal to embrace democracy.
Cheung Wai Kwok: “There will be no critical changes taking
place in one-party rulings and the issue of Falun Dafa,
prior to the fundamental political reforms
taking place within the CCP,
regardless of the death of Jiang Zemin,
It’s just a matter of a fluctuation in pressures over time,
with some periods appearing severer, the other lighter.”

It’s also said that Jiang’s clique tied the persecution of
Falun Dafa practitioners with the CCP’s future,
the intention being, to bury all CCP
members with the party.
All CCP departments are inevitably responsible
for the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners,
and if left unresolved, Jiang’s clique could dodge it,
the CCP as a whole can be never exempt from the final trial.
