CCP Media Offend Russia, Trouble for Russia’s Chinatowns
According to Russian media reports, the Russian authorities
recently announced they would ban all “Chinatowns" in Russia,
as “the cultural level of Chinese immigrants is too low."
Some say it may relate to an article published on August 1 by
a Chinese Communist Party (CCP) mouthpiece media, titled
“Social unrest in China would be worse than the Soviet Union."
This article uses over 90% fabricated data to slander Russia’s
post Soviet Union system, leading to strong resentment
among Russian authorities.
CCP Global Times cited an article by Russian media saying
the Russian authorities will resolutely ban Chinese residential
and commercial areas, such as China Towns, according to law.
Russia’s Regional Development Minister also stressed that
Chinese immigrants’ “cultural quality is poor."
Russia has its own situation and refuses
to allow Chinatowns in its territory.
On August 1, two days before this news, CCP mouthpiece,
Xinhua News Agency, published an article written by
Li Shenming (pen name Wang Xiaoshi), who is the
Vice Dean of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
The article titled “Social unrest in China would be
worse than the Soviet Union",
uses a lot of data to list the “horrors" of Russia’s
democratic reforms after the Soviet Union collapsed.
Subsequently, China’s State Council Information Office ordered
major websites to publish the article in prominent places.
Zhang Jian, Researcher of Chinese Social Issues:
“China publishing this article via official media may have
caused some dissatisfaction among the Russian authorities.
It could be a rude interference to Russia’s internal affairs."
On August 2, Voice of Russia made two posts on Sina Weibo,
questioning this article, but both posts were removed.
On the same day, Voice of Russia reacted with a report titled
“Ridiculing the Unzipped Pants of Others While One is Naked,"
and said they submit this case to the Russian Foreign Ministry.
Soon after, the Russian authorities sternly announced to
ban Chinatowns.
Outsiders speculate that the CCP media’s slander seems
to have angered the Russia authorities.
Hu Ping, commentator and editor-in-chief at “Beijing Spring":
“This is what the CCP always does,
making enemies everywhere.
It never considers that what it does internally will bring
it much trouble once it reaches international society.
It didn’t consider how the Russians would feel or
think about what it did.
‘It’s because’this statement was directed at people in China."
Some netizens question who will undertake the responsibility
for the damaged interests of overseas Chinese caused by
the ungrounded and provocative article.
Many are criticizing the CCP’s Central Propaganda Ministry.
Zhang Jian: “Now that it has become an issue,
the Central Propaganda Ministry acts as a coward,
they delete netizens comments
and bow to the Russian government.
I believe the CCP has always been doing so."
According to The Epoch Times, a staff at
the CCP’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman’s Office
told The Epoch Times during an interview
that the Chinese authorities will not make any response.
They will neither protest nor hold a press conference.
As we all know, the CCP’ ignorant statements have
brought numerous disasters to the Chinese people.
In the late 1950s and early 1960s, Chinese Premier Zhou Enlai
said, “There are so many overseas Chinese in Southeast Asia.
The Chinese government has the ability to export communism
through overseas Chinese."
This statement sparked comprehensive anti-Chinese
movements in Indonesia and other countries,
and lit a fuse of the anti-Chinese riots in Indonesia in 1998.
Some netizens point out the CCP’s‘differential treatment’.
The CCP chooses to remain silent over this huge dispute,
while putting up a fuss over issues relating to Tibet, Taiwan,
the Diaoyu Islands, the South China Sea and other issues
against the U.S., Japan, Philippines and other countries.
