【新唐人2013年01月17日訊】廣東江門爆警民衝突
廣東江門市近600村民因村政府官員私賣土地和貪污,從1月14號起,幾天來,持續堵路抗議,15號下午,當局出動近200特警清場,期間,爆發激烈衝突,警方用警棍、電擊棒毆打村民,村民投擲石塊、磚頭還擊。
衝突持續近3小時,造成近10人受傷,其中3名村民和2名警察受重傷,一輛警車被打砸掀翻。
據《自由亞洲電臺》報導,市鎮兩級政府1月16號分別派人到現場與村民代表談判,提出每畝地賠償五萬元,但村民認為賠償太低,拒絕接受。
報導引述當地村民梁先生的話說,只要沒有達成協議,村民們就會繼續留守抗議。
朱承志獲准見家人但禁見律師
因關注湖南「六四」民運人士李旺陽離奇自殺案,而被中共當局以「涉嫌煽動顛覆國家政權罪」逮捕,關押了7個月的湖南維權人士朱承志,改為監視居住後,1月16號首次在公安的監視下與妻子曾秋蓮見面。
據大陸《維權網》報導,曾秋蓮形容朱承志精神還好,但頭髮被捕至今沒有修剪,已長及肩膀。
曾秋蓮表示,辦案的公安人員說,朱承志只要保證不再關注李旺陽之死,就可以恢復自由。但是,朱承志從來沒有認罪。
受家屬委託代表案件的北京維權律師劉曉原,曾在1月4號到邵陽看守所,要求與朱承志見面,但被當局拒絕。

Guangdong Villagers Clash With Police
Since January 14, 600 villagers in Jiangmen City,
Guangdong Province, have protested against
corrupt officials selling off their farmland.
Roads were continuously blocked.
200 special police were sent to the
site in the afternoon of January 15.
Both sides clashed.
Police beat villagers with electric batons, and
villagers threw stones and bricks in defense.
Three hours later, 10 people were reported injured.
3 villagers and 2 police were heavily injured.
A police vehicle was smashed and turned upside down.
Radio Free Asia reported that the local government sent
representatives to negotiate with villagers on January 16.
They wanted to pay compensation of
50,000 yuan (US$8037) per mu (1 US Acre = 6.07 MU).
Villagers believed the compensation was too low to accept.
The report cited Mr. Liang, a local villager saying that
without an agreement, villagers would continue to protest.
Activist Zhu Chengzhi Allowed To Meet Wife But Not Lawyer
Hunan activist Zhu Chengzhi, who was suspicious
of democrat Li Wangyang’s death, was arrested
for 7 months for “inciting subversion of state power".
Later his charge was changed, and
Zhu was placed under house arrest.
On January 16, and under police surveillance, Zhu met his
wife Zeng Qiulian for the first time since he was arrested.
According to a China Human Rights Defenders
report, Zeng Qiulian said Zhu looks fine.
He hasn’t had his hair cut since being
arrested, so it reaches his shoulders.
Zeng commented that police said that as long
as Zhu promises to no longer show concern
towards Li Wangyang’s death, he will be released.
However, Zhu will never accept that he is guilty.
Beijing lawyer Liu Xiaoyuan, who was
appointed by Zhu’s family to deal with
the case, visited Shaoyang jail on January 4.
He requested to me Zhu, but was rejected by the authorities.
