The Chinese Communist Party New Leadership Still Censors Internet
Several state media in mainland China have suggested
intensifying monitoring of Internet content.
Meanwhile, VPN services, used by netizens for unblocking
censorship is continuously blocked by firewall.
Experts have suggested netizens use Ultrasurf and Freegate
that allow you to bypass firewalls.
Both are freeware programs designed as anti-censorship
tools, in addition, programs are constantly upgraded.
Since Dec. 18, the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) media
People’s Daily published several articles about control of the Internet.
Voice of America reported that, recently, many foreign
VPN service providers have complained that their servers are blocked in China.
According to incomplete statistics, China has 538 million
internet users, it has reached the world’s top position.
Some netizens use VPN services to bypass China’s
Great Wall.
They have even searched the “sensitive information”
that the CCP won’t allow them to see.
Bill Xia, president of Dynamic Internet Technology Inc. said,
VPN was original designed an internet tool.
Because of the CCP’s blockade, some netizens use it
as a tool to bypass censorship.
Technically, VPN service providers didn’t particularly
develop software to break censorship blocks.
The IP addresses he designed are stable.
The CCP easily blocks VPN servers.
Xia suggests netizens use Ultrasurf and Freegate softwares,
they are not easily blockaded.
Bill Xia: “Ultrasurf and Freegate are designed
to help Chinese Netizens bypass the firewall.
Both are constantly upgraded and new versions
will be released soon.”
Hu Jun, founder of Human Rights Campaign In China said
that he used Ultrasurf and Freegate.
Both worked very well, he suggested netizens try them.
Hu Jun: “Now there are several software to use-
including Ultrasurf and Freegate.
Freegate has also been known as ‘dove’,
it is fast and works well ”.
Xue Peng, former manger at Web Cars Internet Ltd. said,
his company had used VPN servers.
However, it was always disturbed on “sensitive” dates.
However, once that happened, they would
switch to Ultrasurf.
Xue Peng: “Now the Great Wall firewall is intensifying
censorship on VPN. It seriously affects our daily work.
Actually, disturbance often happened on “sensitive “dates.
In order to complete our daily work, we use other software
to bypass the CCP firewall. Such as Dynaweb and Ultrasurf.
The software somehow is better than our company’s VPN.”
After the CCP’s 18th Congress, the new leadership
seemed to be easing Internet control.
Lei Zhengfu, Chongqing party secretary was dismissed
after his sex tape was exposed on the Internet;
a Guangdong official was under investigation after a letter
he wrote to his mistress was exposed on the Internet.
Some people even thought the microblog was uncensored,
the CCP seems changing to be better.
However, Voice of America cited journalist, An Ti,
who explained that it only proves that microblog is
becoming a part of the CCP’s media.
An Ti pointed out that there is a large team
to monitor microblog,
they still monitor discussion about top
leaders over the Internet.
Following Beijing’s orders, they still censor
the contents considered threatening to the CCP.
Wu Jianguo, internet writer:
“I think Voice of America’s report is very accurate.
The CCP new leaders are still uneasy about
Internet control.
It makes it clear for those, who hope the CCP ‘new leaders
can change for the better, one shouldn’t have any dreams about the CCP changing in any major way.
The evil nature and trend of the CCP is
determined by it’s very system,
which is immune to changes made by
any single person or by any open-minded leader.”
Wu Jianguo also pointed out that the CCP’s evil nature
is the result of it’s one party dictatorship.
Wu Jianguo also pointed out that the CCP’s one-party
dictatorship results in its evil nature.
As long as the CCP exists, the Internet won’t
be truly uncensored for a single day.
